Artistic Directors Bick Goss and Frank Evans and Board President Stephen Hanks announce the first presentation of their series of new musicals for 2012-2013: NEUROSIS: THE MUSICAL, with Book by Allan Rice ('New Adventures of Old Christine' CBS), Music by Ben Green, Lyrics by Greg Edwards ('White House Christmas' music by Marvin Hamlisch.) Director is Andy Sandberg (LAST SMOKER IN AMERICA; on Broadway and London's West End as a producer of HAIR (2009 Tony, Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle Awards) and the recent revival of Gore Vidal's THE BEST MAN (2012 Tony Award Nomination).

Dramatists Guild Cancels 2012 Awards Night

Due to the impact of Hurricane Sandy, the Dramatists Guild of America is cancelling their 2012 Awards Night on Monday, November 5 at The Players Club. The Dramatists Guild will reschedule the Awards Night to a later date, which will be announced in the coming weeks. The Guild's thoughts and well wishes are with everyone affected by the storm and they are most appreciative of your understanding during this difficult time.

The new musical comedy Bring It On: The Musical produced by Universal Pictures Stage Productions/Glenn Ross, Beacon Communications/Armyan Bernstein and Charlie Lyons and Executive Producers Kristin Caskey and Mike Isaacson will resume performances in the wake of Hurricane Sandy at The St. James Theatre (246 W. 44th Street) on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 7pm.

Tony and Grammy Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, along with Tony Award winners Tom Kitt, Jeff Whitty, Alex Lacamoire, Amanda Green and other members of the creative team behind the hit new Broadway show Bring it On: The Musical will be featured guests at an upcoming fundraiser for Amber Charter School. The event, to be held today, October 4th, will honor the school's founder - and Lin-Manuel's father - Luis A. Miranda, Jr. Guests will attend a pre-show reception at Trattoria Dopo Teatro, followed by a special performance of Bring It On: The Musical at the St. James Theater. Funds raised at the benefit will support direct academic intervention for Amber's young students in an Upper Manhattan district which has traditionally faced tough challenges with literacy and learning achievement.

Producers Broadway Across America (John Gore, Thomas B. McGrath, Beth Williams), Barbara Whitman, Latitude Link, Dede Harris, Sharon Karmazin, and Howard and Janet Kagan have just announced that the La Jolla Playhouse production of the new American musical HANDS ON A HARDBODY will open Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street), following a preview period that begins Saturday, February 23, 2013. Philadelphia Theatre Company Announces Barrymore Awards

Philadelphia Theatre Company was the top winner of this year's Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre with seven awards, the most of any Philadelphia-area theater company. This brings PTC's total number of Barrymore Awards to 53 cumulative wins and 155 nominations.

The Original Broadway Cast Recording of Bring It On: The Musical will be produced by Ghostlight Records and available on Back Lot Music, and available for digital download on iTunes now and in stores October 16, 2012. The cast of Bring It On recorded the album at MSR Studios in New York City on August 9, 10 and 16, 2012 under the direction of Album Producers Alex Lacamoire, Tom Kitt and Kurt Deutsch.
The cast and creative team met up over the weekend for a special listening party, and Randy Rainbow was there to chat with the cast about the new album. Check out what they had to say below!
