Thomas/Ortiz Dance makes a highly anticipated return to New York City with its two-night performance series November 7 - 8 at the Manhattan Movement Arts Center. Led by husband-and-wife team Ted Thomas (former Paul Taylor dancer) and Frances Ortiz, the 12-member contemporary ensemble shares a full evening of the couple's emotional and colorful works including the world premiere of Four Temperaments.

RAHWAY, NJ - On October 17, 2014 at 8:00pm, American Repertory Ballet will present A Midsummer Night's Dream Preview Performance at Union County PAC's Hamilton Stage. The professional dancers of American Repertory Ballet will perform Act II of Artistic Director and choreographer Douglas Martin's brand new full-length ballet, and Martin will lead a pre- and post-performance discussion about the choreographic process.

Soho Rep. and The Play Company, in association with John Adrian Selzer, announce casting and the creative team for the U.S. premiere of debbie tucker green's generations. The production, today, September 30-October 26, reunites the playwright with director Leah C. Gardiner, who worked together on the OBIE Award-winning 2011 production of born bad. generations features a 12-person community chorus led by music director Bongi Duma (The Lion King). The cast includes Shyko Amos (An Octoroon), Mamoudou Athie, Khail Toi Bryant (The Lion King), Ntombikhona Dlamini (Sarafina!), Thuli Dumakude (The Lion King, Poppie Nongena), Jonathan Peck (The Lion in Winter) and Michael Rogers (born bad, Breakfast With Mugabe).

Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College presents two residencies as part of the CUNY Dance Initiative. The first residency with Ephrat Asherie Dance runs from September 18 - October 2, 2014. The second residency with Chloe Arnold's Syncopated Ladies will run from October 27 - November 7, 2014. Each residency will offer a Master Class to John Jay College students and a free performance open to the public.

A Jacob's Pillow Dance Award recipient, MacArthur “Genius” Fellow, and critically lauded choreographer who pairs diverse movement styles with issues of social and historical significance, Kyle Abraham brings his newest work to MASS MoCA October 18 and 19 in a co-presentation with Jacob's Pillow, made possible by the Irene Hunter Fund for Dance. The Watershed is an evening-length work in Abraham's signature blend of classical form, postmodern invention, and urban influences, performed by Abraham and his accomplished company, Abraham.In.Motion. Ebony Repertory Theatre announced today that Garth Fagan Dance will return to Los Angeles after an absence of ten years. The company's program includes the Los Angeles premiere of excerpts from 'Lighthouse/Lightning Rod,' a collaboration of the company's Founder/Artistic Director Garth Fagan, Wynton Marsalis and California-based visual artist Alison Saar. 'Lighthouse' opened the Brooklyn Academy of Music season in 2012. Performances at the 400-seat Nate Holden Performing Arts Center (4718 W. Washington Blvd.) in Los Angeles will run October 3-5, 2014.

NYC followed by dinner at The Grand Ballroom at The Hilton New York. Angela Lansbury will receive the 2014 Rolex Dance Award. Broadway dancer & choreographer Alex Sanchez has created a special number with some of the best dancers from the great white way for the show. The music has been composed by Steven Jamall, who is the Music Director and Supervisor for Rosie O'Donnell and her Rosie's Theater Kids.

Through guest speakers, lecture demonstrations, performance previews, and panel discussions, American Repertory Ballet's On Pointe series gives the public an inside look at the world of dance and, within that, ARB's unique work. ARB's 'Fall Repertory Preview' On Pointe will be held October 10, 2014 at 5:15pm. This On Pointe event will feature American Repertory Ballet dancers performing excerpts from upcoming ARB productions.

New York City Center's 11th annual Fall for Dance Festival will feature free performances in Central Park and 24 acclaimed dance companies and artists from around the world, in six unique programs in September and October 2014. In keeping with the Festival's commitment to make dance accessible to everyone, the Festival will kick off with two FREE evenings of dance at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, in association with The Public Theater, today and tomorrow, September 12 and 13 (rain date, September 14) and will continue at City Center from October 8 - October 19 with all tickets at $15. The Festival's many free pre-show events will include dance lessons and panels by choreographers, artists and dance educators. Tickets will go on sale Sunday, September 14 at 11 a.m.

Classes for Kids and Teens are back this September at The Ailey Extension in conjunction with the new school year and National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month. Starting Sunday, September 7th, tailor-made classes will bring dance and fitness to young people, including: Tiny Steps, a unique experience for 2-year-olds, Hip-Hop 4 Kids (ages 7-11), and the Teen Extension Series (ages 12-17), with ballet, jazz or hip-hop. Weekly classes are taught in a “no-pressure” environment allowing students to gain confidence not only in their dancing abilities, but in themselves.
