CHICAGO – Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton are excited to announce the main company's 2016–17 season performances in Chicago. Tickets to four engagements at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park, located at 205 East Randolph Street in Chicago, are available immediately as a Season 39 subscription; single tickets will go on sale in late summer 2016.

  The Kathryn Posin Dance Company, invited by 92 Y to open the Harkness Dance Festival last February 11 & 12, has been awarded a generous grant for this program  by The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, which includes the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and the New York State Council on the Arts.

The Juilliard School will confer honorary doctorates on five remarkable artists during its 111th Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 20, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center (Broadway at 65th Street, New York City). Christine Baranski will give Juilliard's Commencement Address.

DanceAfrica, BAM's longest continuing program, enters its 39th year with new Artistic Director Abdel R. Salaam leading this traditional Memorial Day weekend extravaganza, running May 25-30. DanceAfrica 2016-Senegal: Doors of Ancient Futures inaugurates Salaam's artistic vision, building on founding Artistic Director Chuck Davis' mission to embrace the contemporary African world.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to announce that on Sunday, May 8 at 6 PM, Daniel Reichard will return to the historic room with a spirited variety show entitled "Friends, Acquaintances, and Strangers." This concert, which takes place on Mother's Day, will feature Reichard and an eclectic gathering of some of New York City's most talented performing artists.

Dancer and percussionist Yahaya Kamate will be the featured guest performer at the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation's (NNJCF) ArtsBergen Connect the Dots event on Tuesday April 19.  The event will be held at Flat Rock Brook Nature Center, 443 Van Nostrand Avenue in Englewood, New Jersey, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Reinforcing the role of The Music Center as a major hub for dance in Los Angeles, The Music Center's powerful new dance season will engage both dance lovers and those new to the art form by challenging preconceived notions of classical ballet and exploring the realm of contemporary expression. The 2016-2017 season of Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center (Dance at The Music Center) will provide the platform for some of the finest U.S. dance companies and artists along with internationally renowned companies who are among the most requested by Music Center audiences. This coming season opens with Celebrate Forsythe (October 21-23, 2016) as three American ballet companies - San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet and Houston Ballet - perform in one program in a never-before-seen approach to salute one of America's top choreographers, William Forsythe. The season continues with the distinctive contemporary work of Jessica Lang Dance (February 17-19, 2017); the return of the much-in-demand Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (March 8-12, 2017); the west coast premiere of Scottish Ballet's A Streetcar Named Desire (May 19-21, 2017); Eifman Ballet of St. Petersburg's exploration of the passions of Tchaikovsky (June 23-25, 2017); and an original program curated by New York City principal ballerina Tiler Peck with the return of The Music Center's BalletNow (July 28-30, 2017). A number of the engagements will be integrated with arts education programs including high school performances and teacher workshops. The Public Theater announced today that Stew and Heidi Rodewald will perform live with the on-stage band for THE TOTAL BENT, playing the guitar and bass, respectively. With text by Stew and music by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, the team behind the Tony Award-wining musical Passing Strange, which premiered at The Public in 2003, this world premiere musical is directed by Joanna Settle. Performances begin Tuesday, May 10 and continue through Sunday, June 12, with an official press opening on Wednesday, May 25.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, beloved as one of the world's most popular dance companies, will return to Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts for a two-week 15-performance engagement at the David H. Koch Theater June 8th - 19th, 2016. Today, Artistic Director Robert Battle announced repertory for the season, including the world premieres of Deep by acclaimed Italian choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti and Untitled America: Second Movement, the second work in a three-part suite by MacArthur 'Genius' Kyle Abraham. The season also includes new productions of Vespers, Ulysses Dove's breathtaking ballet for six women, and The Hunt, Robert Battle's thrilling work for six men, as part of over a dozen works featured on five different programs.

With dynamic movement and dazzling technique, Ailey II debuted a vibrant new season at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, March 30 - April 10.

The European premiere of The New Group's critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production, The Spoils, a razor-sharp new comedy written by and starring internationally acclaimed actor Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network, Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice), will transfer for a strictly limited season at London's Trafalgar Studios, from 27 May to 13 August, with press night on 2 June. 

COSTA MESA, CA – Segerstrom Center for the Arts welcomes the return of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in an exclusive Southern California engagement April 6 – 10, 2016. The program includes eight works never before seen at the Center, four Southern California premieres and new productions of Ailey classics. In addition to the three full repertory programs, on April 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Center and the Company will hold their second free community event – Revelations Celebration – on the Arts Plaza, and on April 6 at 7:30 p.m., Discover Ailey, a special hour-long Ailey mini performance with all seats at just one price.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts' dance season continues with the return of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater from April 6 – 10 featuring Southern California premieres, new productions and beloved Ailey classics. Led by former Ailey dancers Nasha Thomas (Director of AileyCamp and Ailey Arts In Education) and Renee Robinson, along with Ailey Arts in Education Teaching Artist Roderick Jackson, participants will learn movement from the “Wade in the Water,” “Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel,” and “Rocka My Soul” sections of Alvin Ailey's American masterpiece Revelations.

The 34th Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards, which recognizes outstanding achievements in dance on Broadway and in film, takes place on Monday, May 16, 2016.

The Dallas Black Dance Theatre returns to New York for its fifth season of self-produced performances on April 22-23, 2016 at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, located at 405 West 55th Street, New York, NY 10019. The Masterworks Redefined - New York series will showcase the energetic dance artistry of the repertory dance company that is turning 40 in its 2016-2017 season. The National Endowment for the Arts designated Dallas Black Dance Theatre as an 'American Masterpiece Touring Artist.'
