When most Kansas Citians hear the word 'scout,' they picture the large statue in Penn Valley Park. But another famous 'scout' comes to Kansas City's Jewish Community Center next month when the White Theatre presents the play To Kill A Mockingbird. Mary Badham, who played Scout in the 1962 film version, will be in Kansas City for the April 5th and 6th performances.

MCC THEATER has announced that the annual Miscast 2014 gala has added Billy Porter, Jeremy Jordan, Megan Hilty, and Raul Esparza as performers, joining the previously announced Zosia Mamet, Christian Borle, Anika Noni Rose, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Steven Pasquale, Jesse L. Martin, Sasha Allen, Keala Settle, and Nicole Parker. Phil Reno will serve as Musical Director. Additional performers will be announced at a later date. Miscast 2014 will be held Monday, March 31, 2014 at The Hammerstein Ballroom (311 West 34th Street). The evening will begin with a cocktail hour and gala dinner followed by the Miscast performances. Gala and show-only tickets are now on sale at www.mcctheater.org.

When Robert Duvall was inducted into the Actor's Hall Of Fame last Sunday, February 9th, 2014, he announced that he would be donating the $10,000 grant that accompanies that honor to his acting alma mater, The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City. Executive Director, Pamela Moller Kareman released a statement saying - 'We are thrilled that Mr. Duvall thinks so highly of the school. We're still going strong after 85 years and Mr. Duvall's generosity will help train the next generation of remarkable actors.'
