PTC's MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM Closes 6/13

Philadelphia Theatre Company concludes its 2009-2010 season with August Wilson's masterpiece and first Broadway success Ma Rainey's Black Bottom on May 21-June 13.

[title of show]'s Bell & Bowen To Take Part In Free Discussion At Signature Theatre 6/22

On Tuesday, June 22, Signature Theatre will host the writers and original Broadway stars of its current musical [title of show] in a free 'Talk Back' discussion with the audience following the 7:30 pm performance. Writer/actors Jeff Bowen and Hunter Bell will have the mind-bending opportunity to watch themselves played by Washington actors, Sam Ludwig and James Gardiner, at the performance then discuss the show afterwards in Signature's remarkably intimate 110-seat ARK Theatre. [title of show], winner of three Obie Awards and a Tony nomination, is a zany take on two friends' decision to write a musical, running through June 27.

True Colors Theatre Announces 2010-2011 Season

Kenny Leon and True Colors Theatre Company are proud to announce its 2010-2011 season. This is the eighth season for Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company, which opens in October with a World Premiere Musical about the life of Bessie Smith written and directed by former Associate Artistic Director at the Alliance Theatre, David Bell. Kenny Leon will direct the Regional Premiere of Nathan Louis Jackson's comic drama Broke-ology.

Goodman Theatre Presents THE SINS OF SOR JUANA 6/19-7/25

Goodman Theatre is proud to present The Sins of Sor Juana by Karen Zacarías, directed by Goodman Associate Director Henry Godinez. Winner of the Charles MacArthur Award for Outstanding New Play (2000), this centerpiece production for the 2010 Latino Theatre Festival runs June 19 - July 25, 2010, in the Goodman's Albert Theatre.

PA Shakes Launches A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM 6/23

Outrageous situations lead to hilarious complications in the legendary musical, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum opening on the Main Stage at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival Friday, June 25. With previews June 23 and 24, Forum continues through July 11. Ticket prices range from $25 to $53.

Lookingglass Theatre Company Announces Return Of LOOKINGGLASS ALICE 6/16-8/1

Lookingglass Theatre Company proudly announces the return of its circus-inspired theatrical events Lookingglass Alice, adapted and directed by Ensemble Member David Catlin. Hurlbert, Prince, and Puzzo Set for KILLING WOMEN, 5/13 - 6/5

Autumn Hurlbert, Lori Prince, and Michael Puzzo are set to star in Killing Women, by Marisa Wegrzyn and presented by kef productions. The production runs at the Beckett Theatre May 13- June 5 and will be directed by Adam Fitzgerald. Additional casting is yet to be announced.

Open Fist Presents THE GOOD WOMAN OF SETZUAN, Previews 5/28

The Open Fist Theatre Company presents the third show in their 2010 season, a new adaptation of Bertolt Brecht's classic THE GOOD WOMAN OF SETZUAN, translated by Eric Bentley with original music by Elizabeth Swados (Runaways), musical direction by Dean Mora and directed by Charles Otte (The Devil with Boobs).

'Golda's Balcony' Starring Feldshuh Closes at Old Globe Theatre, 5/30

Executive Producer Lou Spisto has announced that due to unforeseen conflicts with Roger Rees' schedule, The Old Globe's upcoming production of What You Will has been replaced with Golda's Balcony starring four-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh. Written by William Gibson and supervised by Scott Schwartz, Golda's Balcony earned Feldshuh a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress, and is the longest running one-woman show in Broadway history. Golda's Balcony will runin the Old Globe Theatre April 28 - May 30. Previews run April 28 - May 1. Opening night is Saturday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available to subscribers only.
