A silent father, an ancient tradition and an unexpectedly important game of baseball forge bonds of lifelong friendship between two Jewish boys from 'five blocks and a world apart' in Aaron Posner's award-winning adaptation of Chaim Potok's award-winning novel, The Chosen, coming to Portland Center Stage this spring. The Chosen will end its run on May 2, 2010.

Northern Stage's production of the Off-Broadway smash Greater Tuna will end its run May 2nd. This madcap romp features two veteran Northern Stage actors, Scott Cote (Beauty & the Beast, Cabaret, Moon Over Buffalo) and Kevin Loreque (I Am My Own Wife, The Full Monty, CATS, The Elephant Man, Cabaret,) playing 19 characters-men, women, even Yippy the dog-in 90 minutes. With 15-second costume changes and rapid-fire humor, this promises to be an audience favorite.

After a world premiere at Palm Beach's Florida Stage last December, Carter W. Lewis' Storytelling Ability of a Boy will end its run at Aurora Theatre as part of the GGC Lab Series, May 2. This new series of plays is made possible through the generous support of an inspired sponsor, Georgia Gwinnet College (GGC). The GGC Lab Series features contemporary works fueled by innovation, creativity and inspiration, designed to give voice to playwrights representing our current generation of artists. GGC Lab performances are held in the Gwinnett Federal Credit Union Studio, giving audiences an intimate view of contemporary plays that resonate with young adults, our next generation of theatre goers.

LOOKINGGLASS ALICE is set to close at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta on May 2nd.

Executive Producer Lou Spisto has announced that due to unforeseen conflicts with Roger Rees' schedule, The Old Globe's upcoming production of What You Will has been replaced with Golda's Balcony starring four-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh. Written by William Gibson and supervised by Scott Schwartz, Golda's Balcony earned Feldshuh a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress, and is the longest running one-woman show in Broadway history. Golda's Balcony will runin the Old Globe Theatre April 28 - May 30. Previews run April 28 - May 1. Opening night is Saturday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available to subscribers only. Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Stephen Eich, Executive Director) today announced that the State Theater of California will host events beginning in May 2010 for Pasadena Jazz Institute, Lyric Opera and Blair IB School, as the organization continues its process of financial reorganization.

The time is 1939 and Selznick has already begun filming Gone With the Wind, but needs a new script. There's only one writer up to the task - the legendary Ben Hecht. The only problem is that Hecht has never read the book and there's only one week to re-write the script. Selznick locks himself, Hecht and director Victor Fleming (pulled off the set of The Wizard of Oz, which he is also directing) in his office to get the job done.
