Kenny Leon, Tony nominated director and Artistic Director of True Colors Theatre Company has been named the recipient of the 2010 Trailblazer Award at this year's NAACP Theatre Awards.

Pulse Ensemble Theatre's Harlem Summer Shakespeare production of 'Macbeth,' which was to be presented in Riverbank State Park's park's indoor theater facility August 12-28, has been shifted at the last moment to the park's Amphitheater on the same dates, making it possible to present the production under the stars.

The Riverside Theatre, Voza Rivers/New Heritage Theatre and Walk Tall Girl Productions will present Obie Award-winner Daniel Beaty in EMERGENCY, an updated version of his critically acclaimed solo play EMERGENCE-SEE! Once again directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, EMERGENCY will have a limited engagement of only four performances, Thursday, August 5 - Saturday, August 7 at 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday, August 8 at 3:00 p.m. at The Riverside Theatre, 91 Claremont Avenue. Bree Shannon didn't always want to become an actress. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a BFA in interior design and worked for firms in Atlanta and New York City before finally committing herself to the Pinch n' Ouch Theatre as a Co-Artistic Director following the recession in 2008. 'I thought what better time than now to follow my heart,' says Shannon. 'I was scared and didn't know what the [acting] industry had to offer, but I knew I was ready.'
