¡El tacón ya luce bien alto en el Nuevo Alcalá! El musical se estrenará el 2 de octubre en la sala grande del teatro madrileño

What a hoot this Greek production of the Broadway musical was.

Top Hat, winner of three Olivier Awards, for 'Best New Musical', 'Best Choreography' and 'Best Costume Design' from a total of seven nominations and winner of the Evening Standard Award for 'Best Night Out', is setting off on an epic 47-week UK tour, visiting 24 theatres nationwide. Opening at New Wimbledon Theatre on Tuesday 12 August 2014 the production will tour until Saturday 25 July 2015.

Junto a Ángel Llacer, trabaja en ella Manu Guix, director musical, y Miguel Antelo, que ha realizado la adaptacion. El libreto es de Stephan Elliott y Allan Scott, y el director de la produccion original es Simon Philips.

The production, helmed by Jaime del Mundo ('The Producers'), opened Friday, May 9, at Newport Performing Arts Theatre.

The original Broadway cast includes Will Swenson as Tick (Mitzi), Tony Sheldon, again, reprising his role of Bernadette, and Nick Adams as Adam (Felicia).

OK Broadway Producers, we need to have a chat. I understand your need to turn every mildly successful movie into a big flashy Broadway Musical in hopes that the name recognition will sell tickets. And I understand that "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert", currently on tour and playing at the Paramount, was ripe for the picking to be a huge spectacle on stage. But if you're going to take a beloved film with tons of pride and heart then at least do the story justice when you do it instead of the pandering and forced version of the story I saw last night.

TOP HAT at the Aldwych Theatre, and will close today, October 26, to make room for Andrew Lloyd Webber's new STEPHEN WARD musical, which is set to open in November 2013. Thare are plans for a UK tour in 2014-15.
