According to the Chicago Tribune, Jason Roobert Brown's newest musical THE CONNECTOR is heading to the Chicago stage at Northlight Theatre. The production is aiming for a run in the 2011-12 season.

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) presents the World Premiere of A SMALL FIRE, a new play by Obie Award winner Adam Bock (The Drunken City at PH, The Receptionist, The Thugs, Swimming in the Shallows). Directed by Trip Cullman (Adam Bock's The Drunken City at PH and Swimming in the Shallows, plus Bachelorette, Some Men, The Last Sunday in June, the recent Edgewise, Adam Rapp's upcoming The Hallway Trilogy) the production will close Sunday, January 23 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

International City Theatre kicks off its 2011 'Season of Romantic Adventures' with the West Coast premiere of a musical about loving life, loving thinking, loving making art, and loving love. Loving Repeating: A Musical of Gertrude Stein, adapted from Stein's writings by Tony Award winners Stephen Flaherty and Frank Galati, explores the writer's capricious love affair with language, self expression, and her lifelong companion, Alice B. Toklas. caryn desai [sic] directs and Darryl Archibald is musical director. The limited, four-week engagement runs January 21-Februay 13, with low-priced previews on January 18, 19 and 20.

Driving Miss Daisy stars Vanessa Redgrave and Boyd Gaines, along with playwright Alfred Uhry and director David Esbjornson surprised co-star James Earl Jones onstage with an 80th birthday celebration yesterday, January 17. The celebration was followed by a post-performance talk-back for Martin Luther King Day with Uhry and Esbjornson, moderated by Driving Miss Daisy producer Jed Bernstein.

Tony Award-winner James Earl Jones, currently starring on Broadway in the hit revival of Driving Miss Daisy, will appear with Mayor Michael Bloomberg at a breakfast commemorating Martin Luther King Day on Monday, January 17, 2011. Jones will make remarks about Dr. King at the program, which will also include City Council Speaker Christine Quinn. The event will take place at Martin Luther King Jr. High School (122 Amsterdam Avenue) at 8:00 AM.

Producers Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich announced today that their premiere Broadway production of Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Driving Miss Daisy, which is playing to sold out houses at the Golden Theatre (252 W45th Street), has recouped its initial investment of $2.6 million in less than three months, making it the first play of the 2010-11 Broadway season to celebrate recoupment.

Playwrights Horizons announced in December that it had commissioned FAR FROM HEAVEN, a new musical with book by Tony Award winner and two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Richard Greenberg (Take Me Out, Three Days of Rain), music by Tony Award nominee Scott Frankel (Grey Gardens) and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Michael Korie (Grey Gardens, The Grapes of Wrath).
