The Theater People Podcast Welcomes CATS Star Tyler Hanes

On Wednesday, August 30, Theater People podcast welcomes CATS star Tyler Hanes. Since making his Broadway debut as a teenager in 2002's OKLAHOMA, Hanes has racked up nine Broadway credits including HAIRSPRAY, THE BOY FROM OZ, SWEET CHARITY, A CHORUS LINE, and ON THE TOWN.

On Monday, August 7th Theater People podcast welcomes Alexandra Silber and Reed Birney in a two-part episode. In the first segment, Silber discusses her new novel 'After Anatevka' which tells the story of Hodel, the middle daughter in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, after the action of the beloved musical ends. Silber also discusses her career in The West End (THE WOMAN IN WHITE, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF) and on Broadway (MASTER CLASS, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF) and shares how her life journey prepared her to write her book. In the second segment, Tony winner Reed Birney discusses his work in the provocative new production of 1984, a play based on George Orwell's 1949 novel.

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) announced today the initial lineup for 2017 NYMF. Among the shows announced in the lineup are the Next Link Project musical selections, as well as invited production selections. Now in its fourteenth year, the 2017 Festival will take place July 10th through August 6th at locations around midtown Manhattan in New York City. Hammerstein Museum & Theatre Education Center to Hold Star-Studded NYC Benefit

The Oscar Hammerstein Museum & Theater Education Center, a recognized 501(c)3 announces their inaugural fundraising event at The Player's Club, NYC on Monday, March 13. The event comes on the heels of an agreement allowing Highland Farm in Doylestown, PA, where world-renowned lyricist and humanitarian Oscar Hammerstein lived and worked, to be used for museum activities. It was at Highland Farm that the iconic Rodgers and Hammerstein partnership was formed and where Hammerstein penned lyrics to musicals such as Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I, The Sound of Music, and more.

MTF to Rock Out at Joe's Pub with Discount Ghost Stories' WELL WORN WORDS

Musical Theatre Factory, under the direction of Artistic Director, Shakina Nayfack, has announced that it will present Discount Ghost Stories' WELL WORN WORDS, a new rock musical with book, music and additional lyrics by Alexander Sage Oyen and book, archival research, and adapted text by Jessica Kahkoska, direction by Austin Regan and musical direction by Luke McGinnis, January 23 at 7pm at the Joe's Pub, 425 Lafayette Street.
