TDF's Open Doors Graduation Held 5/24 At Professional Performing Arts School

Over 350 guests including current and past New York City high school students, and the 23 mentors and 6 guest mentors who have participated in TDF's Open Doors, the theatre arts mentoring program that TDF founded in 1998 with playwright Wendy Wasserstein, will attend this year's graduation on Monday, May 24 at Professional Performing Arts School (328 West 48 Street).

Over 300 current and past New York City high school students and the 22 mentors and 5 guest mentors who have participated in TDF's Open Doors, the theatre arts mentoring program that TDF founded in 1998 with playwright Wendy Wasserstein, will attend this year's graduation ceremony tomorrow, Wednesday, May 27 at 6:00pm at Professional Performing Arts School (328 West 48 Street).

Over 300 current and past New York City high school students and the 22 mentors and 5 guest mentors who have participated in TDF's Open Doors, the theatre arts mentoring program that TDF founded in 1998 with playwright Wendy Wasserstein, will attend this year's graduation ceremony on Wednesday, May 27 at 6:00pm at Professional Performing Arts School (328 West 48 Street). This year has been Open Doors biggest year ever with a total of 27 mentors and guest mentors working with 20 groups of students from New York City high schools, representing all five boroughs.

Former New York Times chief theater critic, Frank Rich, who was once known as 'the Butcher of Broadway' appeared on The Colbert Report on Monday Night. Frank Rich became a New York Times op-ed columnist in 1994 after serving for thirteen years as the newspaper's chief drama critic. These days, he covers politics and also serves as an adviser on the paper's overall cultural news report. Two of his previous books are MUST-HAVES for theatre fans everywhere. Hot Seat: Theater Criticism for The New York Times, 1980-1993 contains a collection of all of his New York Times theatre reviews, which provide insight into thirteen years of Broadway including many of its big hits and misses. He is the also author of the childhood memoir Ghost Light, which is filled with many tales of the start of his love of theatre.

Frank Rich Joins HBO as Creative Consultant

Former New York Times Theatre Critic, and current OpEd Columnist Frank Rich has signed on as a creative consultant to HBO, it was announced today by Richard Plepler, co-president, and Michael Lombardo, president programming group and west coast operations.
