Nominations Announced for 2010 Hewes Design Awards

Nine theater artists will be honored by the Henry Hewes Design Awards Committee during the presentation of its 46th Annual Awards in a luncheon ceremony this fall. Eighty-one theater artists were nominated for outstanding artistry in 46 productions presented during the 2009-2010 New York theater season. Summerstage Continues With GOODBAR 8/20-21

SummerStage as announced the continuation of their first theater season with the world premiere of Goodbar, music and lyrics by Bambï and Directed by Arian Moayed. This show is a part of SummerStage's summer-long FREE theater program and will take place in East River Park, Manhattan on Friday, August 20th to Sunday, August 21st at 8:00 p.m.

Urban Stages Extends LANGSTON IN HARLEM Thru 5/9

Urban Stages (Frances Hill, Artistic Director, Lauren Schmiedel, Managing Director) is happy to announce a one-week extension of their critically acclaimed musical, Langston in Harlem. Langston in Harlem has a book by Langston Hughes, Walter Marks and Kent Gash, with music by Walter Marks, lyrics by Langston Hughes and directed by Kent Gash, with Barry Levitt as music producer, choreography by Byron Easley, and musical direction by John DiPinto.

Chris Henry & Royal Family's World Premiere Production of Sean Cullen's Safe Home, directed by award winning director Chris Henry will receive a three performance extension through February 3, 2010. Safe Home began performances on Friday, January 8 and opened on January 14; it was originally slated to close on January 31, but will now run through Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Women's Interart Center (500 West 52nd Street). Tickets are $18 and can be purchased by visiting www.SmartTix.com or call (212) 868-4444. Added performances are: Monday, February 1; Tuesday, February 2 & Wednesday, February 3 all at 7PM, Safe Home is 90 minutes long with no intermission.
