Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Writers seeking fame and recognition are generally advised to steer clear of the task of writing books for Broadway musicals. Regarded by theatre insiders to be perhaps the most vital, yet most underappreciated element of a successful musical, the book oftentimes receives the least credit when a musical's a hit, but is the first thing blamed if it's a flop.

Ben Richards will join previously announced Beverley Knight in the international hit musical The Bodyguard when it returns to the West End for a limited six month run in July this year.  Richards will play Frank Farmer, Rachel Marron's bodyguard, alongside Beverley Knight in the leading role of the Oscar-nominated superstar Marron.   Performances begin at the Dominion Theatre on 15 July 2016 for this strictly limited season to 7 January 2017.

Today, the organizers of the fifth annual TEDxBroadway announced the final line up of speakers and performers who will be taking the stage on Monday, February 22, 2016 at New World Stages in New York City.

Fresh from a tour of the UK and Ireland, THE BODYGUARD is headed back to the West End with original star Beverley Knight in the spotlight.

Barry University is welcoming back alumnus and Academy Award winning writer Alex Dinelaris, of Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), to the Broad Auditorium on January 30. Dinelaris will be joined by Grammy sensation and Miami powerhouse Gloria Estefan, Academy Award nominee Danny Aiello and actor Matthew Rauch (Cinemax's hit show Banshee) for a dynamic Broadway-style reading of his play, Still Life.

On Your Feet!, the new musical based on the life story of seven-time GRAMMY winning international superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband, legendary producer-musician-entrepreneur Emilio Estefan, is currently in its pre-Broadway World Premiere run in Chicago at the Oriental Theatre, playing now through July 5, 2015. On Monday, March 16, 2015, the League of Professional Theatre Women (LPTW), a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting visibility and increasing opportunities for women in the professional theatre, is pleased to recognize the talents of five outstanding women: Mary-Mitchell Campbell, Kathleen Chalfant, Sandra A. Daley-Sharif, Rachel Dickstein, and Donyale Werle.

Last night (11 June 2014) the hit West End musical The Bodyguard celebrated Alexandra Burke joining the cast, playing the leading role of Oscar-nominated superstar Rachel Marron.
