The National Theatre has announced its upcoming lineup for December 2019 - June 2020.

Catching up with actor Rufus Hound, he takes us through the development of The Boy in the Dress: from tears early on at hearing the songs for the first time, to tech week and getting into the theatre.

Full casting is announced for The Boy in the Dress, the Royal Shakespeare Company's (RSC) new musical, which runs in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre from 8 November.

The Old Vic today announces casting for Lucy Prebble's new play A Very Expensive Poison, based on the book by Luke Harding and directed by John Crowley. The cast includes Thomas Arnold, Tom Brooke, MyAnna Buring, Callum Coates, Marc Graham, Amanda Hadingue, Yasmine Holness-Dove, Lloyd Hutchinson, Robyn Moore, Peter Polycarpou, Sarah Seggari, Michael Shaeffer, Reece Shearsmith, Gavin Spokes and Bea Svistunenko. A Very Expensive Poison opens at The Old Vic on 5 September with previews from 20 August.

With only one week left until The Twilight Zone completes its run in the West End, the celebration of the show's 60th anniversary continues. After a hugely successful post-show Q&A with Christopher Beaumont and Roger Luckhurst, The Twilight Zone have announced a second post-show Q&A.

Audiences have less than 6 short weeks to catch the acclaimed West End production of The Twilight Zone. Following the Almeida's sell-out run in 2017-2018, the highly successful West End transfer running at the Ambassadors Theatre must end with the season finale on Saturday 1 June 2019. The Royal Exchange Theatre has announced that their current smash-hit WEST SIDE STORY will return to the stage in 2020 due to unprecedented popular demand. Recognised as one of the world's most iconic musicals, tickets for Sarah Frankcom's reimagining of this Broadway classic, with new choreography by Aletta Collins, have been in high demand from the moment the production was originally announced and were close to selling out before the previews had even begun. Opening last week to critical acclaim and loved by Manchester audiences the Exchange is delighted to confirm that this celebrated production will be back next year running from Saturday 18 April - Saturday 23 May 2020.

Adapted by Anne Washburn (Shipwreck, Mr. Burns) and directed by the multi award-winning director (winner of 7 Olivier Awards), Richard Jones, this production of the acclaimed classic CBS television series The Twilight Zone is an ingenious mixture of morality tales, fables and fantasy that are as relevant today as when audiences first encountered them.

Sarah Frankcom, Royal Exchange Artistic Director, creates a brand-new version of Broadway's biggest musical WEST SIDE STORY for the Royal Exchange Theatre's unique in-the-round stage. Celebrated for her reinterpretations of American classics, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, DEATH OF A SALESMAN and her award-winning production OUR TOWN, she brings a new focus to the gang culture of the iconic Sharks and Jets with new choreography from Aletta Collins and orchestration by Jason Carr. The production runs in the Theatre from 6 April - 25 May.

New Work New Music, a programme of six world premieres to contemporary music never before used for dance, is presented by The Royal Ballet in the Linbury Theatre this February, accompanied by London Sinfonietta, conducted by Jonathan Lo.

This Thursday, 17 January, the Royal Opera House's Linbury Theatre, the West End's newest and most intimate venue, opens with its first live performance. Extensively redesigned and refurbished as part of the ROH's Open Up project, London's latest state-of-the-art theatre will open with TRIOConcertDance, a mixed programme of contemporary choreography.
