Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, has appointed Branden Huldeen as Artistic Associate/Director of New Play Development. Before joining the team at BSC, Branden was the New Works Director and Festival Producing Director for the National Alliance of Musical Theatre (NAMT), a member service organization devoted to the future of musical theatre around the world from 2008-2016.
Bad Jews to end Chicago run on December 27

After a wildly successful, eight-month ride, Theater Wit's smash hit Chicago premiere of Joshua Harmon's Bad Jews will end its extended run with its final performance on December 27 at Chicago's Royal George Theatre.
Joshua Harmon's smart, funny play about 20-something Jewish cousins grappling with faith, family and identity was a surprise hit for Theater Wit, selling out a nine-week run last spring at the company's Lakeview home before transferring to the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts.

The Hamptons theatre scene will be getting the Summer started early this year as Sag Harbor's Bay Street Theatre will be holding their Second Annual New Works Festival. Being held this weekend, April 24th through 26th, preparations are in full swing for some exciting new works to be displayed in a theme of 'Rediscovery'. Artistic Director Scott Schwartz took time to speak with me today about the festival.

Bay Street Theater announces a change in the second play, OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY, for the 2015 Mainstage Summer Season. Jason Alexander was previously announced to star in the show, but had to withdraw from his role since he will be taking over for Larry David in FISH IN THE DARK on Broadway. Bay Street Theater wishes Jason all the best on his Broadway run. More information about the second play of the Mainstage Season will be announced soon.
