The Charlotte premiere of Disney's NEWSIES opens tonight, Tuesday, January 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center for a limited engagement through Sunday, January 11. In Charlotte, NEWSIES will play Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

"Raiding the Rock Vault" celebrated its debut at The New Tropicana Las Vegas on Friday, Nov. 7, with a star-studded red carpet event, where Las Vegas celebrities joined rock legends for a special kick-off party. The sold-out show, which pays homage to rock's greatest hits from the '60s, '70s and '80s, was met with standing ovations by the enthusiastic audience who welcomed the show to its new home at the Tropicana Theater.
This isn't the first time the Illyrian Players have taken on Shakespeare. In 2011, the company began its provocative theatrical conversation about gender and sex with Twelfth Night, and it has since given LA a BDSM version of The Taming of the Shrew and a gender reversed Macbeth. In addition to Shakespeare, they have produced a number of new plays; bold, edgy works that set them apart from other theatre companies, led by a vision that sees theatre as 'a subversive art form with which to change the world.'
