The Echo Theatre Company's west coast premiere of playwright Ruby Rae Spiegel's DRY LAND needs to come with an advisory warning. Those partial to the sight of profuse bleeding, as in an induced abortion, might think twice about seeing DRY LAND. This particular scene contains graphic bleeding and convulsions heightened by the most convincing screamings of Teagan Rose as the wayward teen Amy.

Echo Theater Company Sets 2016 Season

The new season will feature the Los Angeles premiere of Dry Land by Susan Blackburn Prize finalist Ruby Rae Spiegel, and four world premieres by Los Angeles-based playwrights including BED by Sheila Callaghan; Captain of the Bible Quiz Team by Tom Jacobson; One of the Nice Ones by Erik Patterson; and Blueberry Toast by Mary Laws.

Padua Productions' VILLON Stars Kevin Weisman, Now thru 3/23

Murder, mayhem and poetry. Award-winning, visionary playwright Murray Mednick brings his unique sensibility to the hair-raising, sometimes violent, and often hilarious exploits of medieval poet Francois Villon in a world premiere production directed by the playwright. Villon opens tonight, Feb. 15, presented by Padua Productions in a guest production at the Odyssey Theatre.
