The hit, online television series THE BATTERY'S DOWN, presented an evening of musical comedy at Joe's Pub entitled: SUNDAY NIGHT LIVE: musical comedy... rethought. April 19th. The evening was directed by Connor Gallagher with musical direction by Adam Laird and was produced by Jake Wilson and Jason Knight.

arlier this month, Alan Zachary & Michael Weiner joined in a week-long celebration at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. of the 'Next Generation of Broadway Songwriters' by performing an hour-long concert of their songs, joined by Megan Hilty (star of Broadway's Wicked and 9 to 5). The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) and Executive Director Kathy Evans announced the casts and directors of the eight musicals for its 19th Annual Festival of New Musicals to be held at New World Stages (340 West 50th St between 8th and 9th Avenues) on Sunday, October 7 and Monday, October 8, 2007.

On December 11th, composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa was joined on stage by Julia Murney, Ana Gasteyer, Megan McGinnis and Carly Jibson for an evening of song including new tunes from 'Asphalt Beach' at the Metropolitan Room.

The stars came out to support the The New York Musical Theatre Festival in a benefit at the Pink Room. Their goal is to become the premiere international festival for contemporary musical theatre.
