Variety is reporting that Tony-nominated actress Kathleen Chalfant has joined the MCC's upcoming production of 'Family Week' by Beth Henley, which will run frmo Apr 7-May 23, 2010 and will be directed by Jonathan Demme.

1959 was a heck of a good year for Broadway overtures.  The majestic trumpet fanfare and lowdown bump and grind of Gypsy's is generally regarded as the best in musical theatre, but there was also the rousingly rhythmic curtain-raiser to Fiorello! and, my personal favorite, Philip J. Lang's beautiful interpretation of Bob Merrill's music for Take Me Along, which touches on so many moods of the show while continually building the toe-tapping climax of The catchy title tune.

To help celebrate our 20th season, BLUEBARN THEATRE will revive our 2001 award-winning play, Wit, which opens March 19 and runs through April 11, 2009. BLUEBARN founding member, Kevin Lawler, returns to direct the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, with Phyllis Doughman recreating the role that won her rave reviews, as well as a Theatre Arts Guild Award for Best Actress. The BLUEBARN's 2008 production will also feature local theatre veterans, Melissa Jarecke, Mary Kelly, Benjamin Beck, Paul Schneider, Jennifer McGill, Chris Elston, Eric Grant-Leanna, and Danielle Smith.

The Off-Broadway musical FABULOUS DIVAS OF BROADWAY will play its last 2 weeks, with final performances taking place Saturday, April 19 (at 2&8PM) at St. Luke's Theatre.

The two week 20@20 program kicked-off with a special event featuring live performances with cast members from participating shows at Bloomingdales.
