The Old Globe's GLOBE FOR ALL returns to bring free professional Shakespeare directly to diverse, multigenerational audiences in underserved communities around San Diego County. This second year of GLOBE FOR ALL follows a highly successful inaugural production in 2014. One of the Bard's most charming comedies, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, will be directed by renowned Shakespearean Rob Melrose, Artistic Director of San Francisco's Cutting Ball Theater, who makes his Globe debut. He directs a cast of local professional actors, including recent graduates of the Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program.

Third Eye Theatre Ensemble, a Chicago company which seeks to engage audiences with inspiring performances relevant to today's ever changing world, will be presenting contemporary [& in English] at Forte Framing & Gallery tonight, September 26th at 8pm. contemporary [& in English] is a night of singing featuring excerpts from Third Eye Theatre Ensemble's fall production, Sumeida's Song, by composer Mohammed Fairouz. Cast members and guest artists perform the music of Mohammed Fairouz, in addition to other contemporary composers, including Ricky Ian Gordon, Gwyneth Walker, William Bolcom, Lori Laitman, Jake Heggie, Dominic Argento, Benjamin Britten, and Alan Hovhaness. Boston, MA - The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), the nation's premier orchestra dedicated exclusively to commissioning, performing, and recording new orchestral music, opens its 20th anniversary season with Resilient Voices: 1915-2015, a concert commemorating the centennial of the Armenian genocide, in collaboration with Friends of Armenian Culture Society. The program includes 20th century works by Komitas/Aslamazyan, Alan Hovhaness, and Dmitri Shostakovich, as well as the Boston premiere of Tigran Mansurian's 2009 Requiem. Joining BMOP on the Jordan Hall stage are guests artists Nareh Arghamanyan (piano), Terry Everon (trumpet), the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum, and Boston University's Marsh Chapel Choir.

The concert is part of the 92Y's Art of the Guitar series and will include Maximo Diego Pujol'sSuite Magica; Alan Hovhaness' Sonata for Guitar and Harp: Spirit of Trees; Gary Schocker's Hypnosis; Keith Fitch's Knock on Wood; and Xavier Montsalvatge's Fantasia. Kondonassis and Vieaux will also each play a solo piece, with Kondonassis performing Carlos Salzedo's Chanson dans la nuit and Vieaux performing an arrangement Antonio Carlos Jobim's A Felicidade.

Long time fans of the Orchestra and new enthusiasts alike will have the opportunity to submit their favorite names for an institution beloved by generations of concert-goers. Today through March 9th, music lovers are invited to visit the Orchestra's website: littleorchestra.org, and recommend a new name for an Orchestra known for its audience engagement, inclusive educational mission and commitment to innovative music and multi-disciplinary performances. The Orchestra's new name will be announced later this year.

In a concert entitled Lighthouses as Beacons of Light & Hope, Mr. Berkofsky will perform two sonatas by Ludwig Von Beethoven and and a number of short works by Franz Liszt. The concert is a benefit; Mr Bekofsky is donating all monies from the performance to both the New London Maritime Society Lighthouse Fund and Amistad America, Inc. TheAmistad ship will be docked in New London that weekend as a part of the Society'sSentinels on the Sound - Lighthouse Todays, 10 Todays of waterfront activities in New London across the summer from July 6 through September 7, 2013. The concert will take place at the Custom House Maritime Museum, 150 Bank Street, New London, Connecticut. Seating is limited to 45. Tickets are $35, $25 for NLMS members. Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Dominick Argento, who celebrates his 85th birthday on October 27, has made a commitment through a charitable remainder trust to endow a professorship at the University of Rochester's Eastman School of Music to the value of $1.5 million. In honor of Argento, who received his Ph.D. in composition at Eastman in 1958, the endowed position will be named the Dominick J. Argento Professor.
