Pianist Rudolf Buchbinder Performs With the New York Philharmonic, 2/14-16

The "Viennese oracle" (The Philadelphia Inquirer) pianist Rudolf Buchbinder will be the featured soloist with the New York Philharmonic led by Music Director Alan Gilbert in three concerts from February 14-16, 2013 at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. Buchbinder will perform Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat Major, Op. 83; the concerts will also include Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6, Pathetique. Buchbinder's next performances in the U.S. are on March 8-10, 2013, as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra led by Christoph von Dohnanyi, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K. 466.

George London Foundation Presents Anthony Dean Griffey & Emalie Savoy at The Morgan, 1/13

Anthony Dean Griffey, a tenor internationally renowned for his portray of the title role of Britten's Peter Grimes, and Emalie Savoy, a 2011 George London Award winner who is one of New York's fastest rising young sopranos, perform the second George London Foundation Recital of the season with pianist Ken Noda on Sunday, January 13, 2013, at 4:30 PM at The Morgan Library & Museum. The George London Foundation Recital Series presents pairs of outstanding opera singers, many of whom were winners of a George London prize early in their careers or are recent George London Award recipients.

Renée Fleming Launches 4-Event Perspectives Series at Carnegie Hall, 1/27

After nearly 40 performances at Carnegie Hall, renowned soprano Renée Fleming curates a four-event Perspectives series, showcasing her multifaceted talents and collaborating with some of her favorite fellow artists beginning on Sunday, January 27 at 8:00 p.m. when she appears in recital in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage with her frequent operatic co-star and close friend mezzo-soprano Susan Graham.

Pianist Rudolf Buchbinder to Release New Recording of Mozart Piano Concertos

The "Viennese oracle" (The Philadelphia Inquirer) pianist Rudolf Buchbinder will release his newest Sony Classical album, a recording of Mozart's Piano Concertos No. 23 in A Major, K. 488 and No. 25 in C Major, K. 503 with conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Concentus Musicus Vienna, in the US and the UK on January 22, 2013. The recording is a live account of Buchbinder's concerts with Concentus Musicus at the Vienna Musikverein in June 2012.

Pianist Rudolf Buchbinder will release his newest Sony Classical album, a recording of Mozart's Piano Concertos No. 23 in A Major, K. 488 and No. 25 in C Major, K. 503 with conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Concentus Musicus Vienna, in the US and the UK on January 22, 2013. The recording is a live account of Buchbinder's concerts with Concentus Musicus at the Vienna Musikverein in June 2012.

The Cleveland Orchestra Appoints Mark Williams Director of Artistic Planning

The Cleveland Orchestra announces the appointment of Mark Williams as director of artistic planning. Mr. Williams will be responsible for managing all aspects of artistic planning and programming at The Cleveland Orchestra, including managing all artist relations, programming, and presentations at Severance Hall and the Blossom Festival. He will begin his duties with the Orchestra on January 7, 2013.

Alan Gilbert, whose tenure as Music Director of the New York Philharmonic has just been extended through the 2016-17 season, heads across Lincoln Center Plaza this month to lead three fully-staged performances of Mozart's Cosi fan tutte at the Juilliard School (tonight, Nov 14 and Nov 17, & 19), where he serves as Director of Conducting and Orchestral Studies.

Music Director Alan Gilbert, The Yoko Nagae Ceschina Chair, will conduct the New York Philharmonic in an all-Russian program featuring Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 with Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov, 2011 Tchaikovsky Piano Competition Winner, in his Philharmonic debut; Musorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain; and Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, spotlighting Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow, today, September 28, 2012, at 2:00 p.m.; Saturday, September 29 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, October 2 at 7:30 p.m.

The program will feature world famous violinist Itzhak Perlman performing personal favorites including Williams' Theme from Schindler's List and Massenet's "Meditation from Tha?s, as well as works by Sarasate, Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov. The broadcast, which features extended artist profiles, will also include Respighi's celebrated Fountains of Rome and Pines of Rome.

The Collegiate Chorale Announces 2012-13 Season

The Collegiate Chorale, led by music director James Bagwell, announces its 71st Season, which will include three Chorale-presented concerts, five collaborative concerts, and a summer tour to the Verbier Festival.
