Target Margin Theater to Stage Rare Revival of O'Neill's MOURNING BECOMES ELECTRA

As the centerpiece of the Company's 25th anniversary season, Target Margin Theater and Abrons Arts Center will present a rare revival of Eugene O'Neill's great trilogy, Mourning Becomes Electra, directed by Herskovits, and running April 26-May 20. Part Greek tragedy, part family play, part history play, Mourning Becomes Electra (O'Neill's 1931 adaptation of Aeschylus 'The Oresteia') mashes myth, Freudian psychology and melodrama into an epic six hour production.

Mosaic Theater Company of DC presents South Africa: Then & Now, a dynamic spring repertory that takes audience members back to the depths of Apartheid, before moving forward to the ongoing search for truth and reconciliation in a wounded country. The repertory launches with Athol Fugard's seminal masterpiece, BLOOD KNOT (March 29-April 30, 2017)-an intimate parable about a brotherhood devastated by the constraints of Apartheid-under the direction of Studio Theatre Founding Artistic Director Joy Zinoman, making her Mosaic Theater Company debut.

Actors Touring Company Announce Most Prolific Year Ever

Following a monumental year which saw the opening of three new shows, sell-out runs and four or five star reviews across the board, Actors Touring Company, under the stewardship of Artistic Director Ramin Gray and Executive Director Andrew Smaje, goes from strength to strength. As the company opens their acclaimed The Suppliant Women at The Royal Exchange, they announce plans for 2017 and 2018, cementing further their reputation as creators and producers of high quality, relevant international drama with a commitment to collaborations with leading national and international venues.

The Artistic Home Artistic Director Kathy Scambiatterra announced today that the company's production of By the Bog of Cats, by Marina Carr, will extend its run by an additional three weeks to meet the overwhelming demand for seats. The Chicago Tribune's Kerry Reid said of it 'Mossman and his cast dig into the textures of Carr's script with gusto and sensitivity. Collins gives a bravura performance.' The Artistic Home's production, which opened to the press on February 13,  is directed by Jeff Award winner and ensemble member John Mossman.

The Artistic Home Artistic Director Kathy Scambiatterra announced today that the company will perform By the Bog of Cats; a drama by Irish playwright Marina Carr (The Mai) that premiered at Dublin's Abbey Theatre in 1998 and was produced in London's West End in a 2004 production starring Holly Hunter.

New York Philharmonic Presents BELOVED FRIEND - TCHAIKOVSKY AND HIS WORLD, 1/24-2/11

The New York Philharmonic will present Beloved Friend - Tchaikovsky and His World: A Philharmonic Festival, January 24-February 11, 2017, featuring Russian-born Semyon Bychkov conducting works by Tchaikovsky as well as composers he was influenced by and whom he influenced, with piano soloists Yefim Bronfman and Kirill Gerstein.

Mozart, Bach, Britten and More Slated for Oratorio Society of New York's 2016-17 Season

The Oratorio Society of New York (OSNY), New York's standard for grand choral performance, will mark its 2016-17 season with performances of symphonic choral masterworks of Handel, Mozart, Bruckner, and Britten, ending with Bach's monumental Mass in B Minor. Leading the OSNY for its 144th season will be Kent Tritle, in his 12th year as Music Director.
