World Premiere of ARTHUR'S WORLD Set for Bush Theatre

The Bush Theatre will host the premiere of Arthur's World, produced by Kensal House-based charity SPID Theatre, from 27 January to 14 February 2015, in its upstairs theatre space the Bush Attic. Arthur's World is written by SPID Theatre Artistic Director Helena Thompson and directed by Mel Cook.

Met Opera's MACBETH to be Broadcast at Town Hall Theater, 10/14

Just in time for Halloween, Town Hall Theater and the MET Live in HD will broadcast Verdi's Macbeth, the timeless tale of murder, witchcraft and revenge on the THT big screen October 14 at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Tickets for both shows are $10, much lower than the regular season rate of $24.

Ridgefield Playhouse to Screen Verdi's MACBETH Live in HD, 10/12

For the first time at the Met, star soprano Anna Netrebko delivers her searing portrayal of Lady Macbeth, the mad and murderous mate of Željko Lu?i?'s doomed Macbeth. Adrian Noble's chilling production of Verdi's masterful adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy also stars Joseph Calleja as the noble Macduff and Rene Pape as Banquo. Fabio Luisi conducts.

Verdi's MACBETH to Screen Live in HD at The Ridgefield Playhouse, 10/12

How exhilarating are the operas broadcast Live in HD to The Ridgefield Playhouse, complete with behind-the-scenes tours and commentary by some of the genres' most revered stars. From the Met in New York City comes Verdi's masterpiece Macbeth on Sunday, October 12, at 12 p.m., with star soprano Anna Netrebko as Lady Macbeth and Željko Lu?i?'s as Macbeth.

RSC to Release Music and Speeches from Gregory Doran's HENRY IV Parts I & II on CD, iTunes, April 17

The RSC is releasing a selection of music and speeches from Gregory Doran's productions of Henry IV parts I and II on a new CD and for download from iTunes. The recording is the second in the ongoing series which continues the ambition to capture the specially commissioned music composed for RSC productions of all Shakespeare's plays, as the Company works its way through the canon over the next six years.

Welcome Moss Hart Back to Broadway - Meet the Full Cast of Lincoln Center's ACT ONE, Beginning Tomorrow!

Lincoln Center Theater presents Act One, a play written and directed by James Lapine from the autobiography by Moss Hart. The production is scheduled to begin previews tomorrow night, March 20 and will open on Thursday, April 17 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Suzanne Bertish, Carson Elrod, Claire Karpen & More to Lead CSC's THE HEIR APPARENT

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, will present David Ives' THE HEIR APPARENT, adapted from the play by Jean-Francois Regnard, beginning performances Friday, March 28 at CSC (136 East 13th Street). Directed by John Rando, THE HEIR APPARENT will feature Suzanne Bertish (Madame Argante), Carson Elrod (Crispin), Claire Karpen (Lisette), Amelia Pedlow (Isabelle), David Pittu (Scruple), Dave Quay (Eraste) and Paxton Whitehead (Geronte). The official press opening for THE HEIR APPARENT is Wednesday, April 9. The production will play at limited engagement through Sunday, May 4.

Theatre Royal Bath Sets WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOLF?, HAY FEVER & More for 2014 Summer Season

The Theatre Royal Bath has announced its 2014 Summer Season, comprising four productions and starring Clare Higgins, Tim Pigott-Smith, Alison Steadman and Felicity Kendal. Beginning on 18th June with Edward Albee's WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF, the season continues with KAFKA'S DICK by Alan Bennett, followed by THERESE RAQUIN by Emile Zola, and concludes on 6th September with Noel Coward's HAY FEVER.

THE DEATH OF KLINGHOFFER, LA DONNA DEL LAGO, THE MERRY WIDOW and More Set for The Metropolitan Opera's 2014-15 Season

The Metropolitan Opera's 2014-15 season will feature 26 operas, three of them company premieres, in six new productions and 18 revivals showcasing the talents of the world's leading singers, conductors, and theater artists. The three operas that will have their first-ever Met performances, each staged by a director making his Met debut, are John Adams's The Death of Klinghoffer, conducted by David Robertson and directed by Tom Morris, opening October 20; Rossini's La Donna del Lago, conducted by Michele Mariotti and directed by Paul Curran, opening February 16, 2015; and Tchaikovsky's one-act opera Iolanta, conducted by Valery Gergiev and directed by Mariusz Treli?ski. Iolanta will be presented in a double bill with a new staging of Bartok's one-act Duke Bluebeard's Castle, also conducted by Gergiev and directed by Treli?ski.

San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Reveal 2013 Craig Noel Award Nominees

Dominating the nominations in the musical category is the current Broadway sensation 'A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder,' which made its world premiere in February 2013 at San Diego's The Old Globe (a co-production with Hartford Stage). The musical racked up 11 nominations, including nods for New Musical, its versatile star Jefferson Mays (a UC San Diego alumnus) and its director Darko Tresnjak (former co-artistic director and Shakespeare Festival director at The Old Globe).
