As an added production for the 2015 season, Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts is proud to present one of Broadway's most beloved musical tales, 'Peter Pan,' performed by adults on the Main Stage July 16 - 26, directed by Kelly Fouchi.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) will present Peter Pan, a musical based on the play by Sir J.M. Barrie as its second production of the 2015 Nutmeg Summer Series. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Today we continue the brand new 5 SONGS BY... series with an intriguing and informative new entry with a bit of a twist, legendary Golden Age songwriters Betty Comden and Adolph Green penned a sparkling score for their multi-award-winning 1978 musical ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY and Green's own accomplished daughter, Amanda Green, supplied new lyrics and approved some useful tweaks to the score that have been implemented for the brand new Roundabout Theatre Company revival of the Jazz Age tuner and she opens up about the process in an exclusive chat, highlighting some of her contributions as well as shedding a light on some of her own favorite moments in the acclaimed and adventurous operetta-based show.

It's that time of year, and I can't help but wonder if your CD collection and iPod are Tonys ready. It's just a handful of hours until the 69th annual Tony Awards, which will be broadcast live on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 8/7c on CBS. This Broadway season has some exciting contenders in the musical categories, and to get you ready for the big night, I'm recapping the albums you should be listening to (or at least pre-ordering).

Nominated for five Tony Awards (including Best Revival of a Musical), Roundabout Theatre Company's On the Twentieth Century, starring Tony & Emmy Award winner Chenoweth, Golden Globe & SAG Award winner & Tony nominee Peter Gallagher, is currently bringing audiences to their feet at the American Airlines Theatre. Happy Birthday, Charles Strouse! Strouse's first Broadway musical was the 1960 hit Bye Bye Birdie, with lyrics by Lee Adams, who would become his long time collaborator. Following this was Golden Boy (1964, also with Adams), starring Sammy Davis, Jr. and It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman (1966, based on the popular comic strip) which introduced the song 'You've Got Possibilities' sung by Linda Lavin. In 1970, Applause (starring Lauren Bacall, with book by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, and lyrics by Adams) won Strouse his second Tony Award. In 1977, Strouse adapted another comic strip for the stage, creating the hit Annie, which garnered him his third Tony Award and two Grammy Awards. Other Strouse musicals include Charlie and Algernon (1979), Dance a Little Closer (1983, with lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner), Rags (1986), Nick & Nora (1993), and An American Tragedy (1995, with lyrics by David Shaber).

The 2014-2015 season has been jam-packed with exciting entertainment, fabulous stars and unforgettable nights that only live theatre can provide and this week one of the oldest awards institutions held their annual star-studded celebration honoring the best, brightest and, in many cases, newest top talent to appear on the scene this year, the 2015 Theatre World Awards. Standing out out from the pack of similar events around this time of year, the Theatre World Awards is voted on by a committee of top theatre professionals and this year's show was again directed by Barry Keating and hosted by Peter Filicia. The 71st presentation of the awards - and, yes, it is older than the Tony Awards and the Drama Desk Awards - was marked by a sensational ceremony at the Lyric Theatre on Broadway, home of the rapturously received revival of ON THE TOWN, and I was lucky enough to get a fly-on-the-wall view of not only the big awards show itself, but the rehearsal, as well - and chat with some of the starry attendees and winners, as well. Here are some of the standout moments in an unforgettable evening.

The 71st Annual Theatre World Awards -- the first award created in 1945 to recognize a debut theatre performance on or off-Broadway -- will be honoring the legacy of Betty Comden and On The Town with a special recognition for 'Outstanding Contribution to the Theatre World.' The 71st Annual Theatre World Awards will take place tonight, June 1, 2015 at Broadway's Lyric Theatre (213 W. 42nd St, New York, NY 10036).
