Eliot Feld's KIDS DANCE to Feature Dances by Feld, Careless and More

Eliot Feld's KIDS DANCE, called 'a New York City treasure' by The New York Times, makes its annual visit to The Joyce for six performances, June 8-11.   The remarkably poised, scrupulously schooled, and impeccably rehearsed whiz-kids, numbering 60, ages 11-17, will delight audiences young and old with Feld classics Meshugana Dance and The Jig is Up, along with two Feld works created especially for Kids Dance: Upside Dance and the new Pointing, a premiere for four young ladies en pointe.

Eliot Feld remains committed to creating a repertory of dances created especially for young dancers.  For the June 8-11 season of Kids Dance, Feld will premiere one new ballet.  There will also be one new dance by Laura Careless, and a second new work by a trio of young choreographers who are graduates of or seniors at Juilliard: Conner Bormann, Riley O'Flynn, Stephanie Terasaki.

The indoor-outdoor Alma Theatre was seasonally comfortable with almost all of the seats full on opening night of Groundworks Dance Theater's 14 th annual performance at the Cleveland Heights hilly, tree-covered Cain Park. They will present an expanded cast in a spectacular new adaptation of Carl Orff's timeless classic Carmina Burana. Also featured on the program will be a world premiere work by award-winning New York choreographer Adam Barruch.

14th St Y Theater to Launch New Pilot for Contemporary Dance

Y Cabaret is a pilot performance program at the 14th St Y premiering this November 2nd and 3rd , curating seven New York based contemporary choreographers in an intimate evening of drinks and dance. Pieces range from sensual solos, to larger athletic modern works, and to a new dance-theater interpretation of the musical Sweeney Todd.

The performance features "Beast," the choreographic debut of RNDC company member Hanna Brictson, and the all-new "the frost that binds" by three-time RNDC guest choreographer Adam Barruch. Led by 2014 Chicagoan of the Year (Chicago Tribune) Frank Chaves, RNDC continues their 25th Anniversary celebration with this versatile, fresh spring performance. The University of Hartford's Hartt School Dance Division presents 'untempered', the Spring Senior Dance and Music Collaboration, tonight, March 6 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, March 8 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Edward C. and Ann T. Roberts Theater, at the Mort and Irma Handel Performing Arts Center, 35 Westbourne Parkway, Hartford.
