Juilliard Drama Announces 2018-19 Season

Juilliard Drama begins its inaugural year under the leadership of Obie-winning director Evan Yionoulis, Richard Rodgers Director of the Drama Division. Current acting director Richard Feldman will resume his role as associate director and faculty member. The 2018-19  season features fully staged productions showcasing Juilliard's Group 48 acting students in their fourth and final year in the program.

New Jersey Repertory Company Presents FERN HILL

New Jersey Repertory Company, located at 179 Broadway in Long Branch, is proud to present the premiere of Fern Hill by Michael Tucker (L.A. Law, Radio Days), from August 9 through September 9, 2018.

The Argyle Theatre Announces The Cast And Creative Team For HAIRSPRAY

Long Island's newest theatrical venue The Argyle Theatre (Evan Pappas, Artistic Director) presents the Tony Award winning hit Broadway musical Hairspray with book by Marc O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman at The Argyle Theatre (34 West Main Street, Babylon, Long Island).  Performances are set to begin Thursday, July 12, 2018 for a limited run through Sunday, August 26, 2018. 

PlayPenn Welcomes Julia Mauro Bumke As New Director Of Education

PlayPenn, the nationally recognized new play development organization located in Philadelphia, is thrilled to announce new work dramaturg Julia Mauro Bumke as their Director of Education. A graduate of Harvard and Princeton Universities, Ms. Bumke will assume her position full time on August 1, 2018.

Atlantic Theater Company's announces Middle Eastern MixFest

Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) will present Middle Eastern MixFest, a series of free readings co-curated by playwrights Mona Mansour and Heather Raffothat will run Wednesday, August 8th through Thursday, August 16th at Atlantic Stage 2 (330 West 16th Street).

The complete cast for the world premiere Chicago production of the new comedy musical, TOOTSIE has just been announced. Joining previously announced Tony Award nominee SANTINO FONTANA as Michael Dorsey will be LILLI COOPER as Julie Nichols, SARAH STILES as Sandy Lester, JOHN BEHLMANN as Max Von Horn, ANDY GROTELUESCHEN as Jeff Slater, JULIE HALSTON as Rita Mallory, MICHAEL McGRATH as Stan Fields, and REG ROGERS as Ron Carlisle.

Commission Theatre Announces Cast For CLEARING By Beth Hyland

Commission Theatre (CT) presents CLEARING, a social drama by Beth Hyland. CLEARING will be directed by Claire Reinhart. The opening night and press performance will take place on Friday June 8th at 8pm with Thursday - Today performances through June 23rd. This is the first production of Commission Theatre's 2018 season.

TheatreWorks Unveils New Works Fest Line-Up

Lovers of new theatre will gather this August for an advance look at tomorrow's hits at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley's 2018 New Works Festival at Palo Alto's Lucie Stern Theatre. Original LGBTQ Musical SONATA 1962 Will Make Off-Broadway Debut At NYMF 2018

Award-winning playwright Patricia Loughrey and composer Thomas Hodges, whose critically acclaimed play Dear Harvey has been making waves across the nation since its debut in 2010, are thrilled to announce their original LGBTQ musical Sonata 1962 will making its Off-Broadway debut this August as part of the 2018 New York Musical Festival's (NYMF) Next Link Project.

May Adrales Receives The Alan Schneider Director Award

Milwaukee Repertory Theater's Associate Artistic Director May Adrales is the recipient of this year's Alan Schneider Director Award. The award was presented late yesterday at Theatre Communications Group's national conference in St. Louis, MS.  The award is designed to identify and assist exceptional directors whose talent has been demonstrated through work in specific regions, but who may not be well known nationally.   With it comes a cash prize of $7,500, which may be used for travel, research or other activities specifically focused on the directing craft or related career opportunities.

Cast And Creative Team Announced For LITTLE ROCK At The Sheen Center

Rebel Theatrical Management, LLC (Harvey Butler, producer), in association with The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture, have announced, today, the cast and the creative team for the New York premiere of the new play Little Rock, written and directed by Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj. Casting Announced For 21st Annual Colorado New Play Festival

The Colorado New Play Festival (CNPF) (Artistic Director Andrew Leynse) (formerly the Perry-Mansfield New Works Festival) is proud to announce full casting for all five play readings for the 2018 season. The 21st Annual Festival, to be held on June 10-16, 2018 in Steamboat Springs, CO, will develop five new works in partnership with the Actors Theatre of Louisville, Alley Theatre, Curious Theatre Company, Primary Stages, and Victory Gardens Theater.

ROMEO AND JULIET Return to DC For Annual Free For All

Free For All, one of the capital's cherished annual traditions, will return this summer to Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), offering two weeks of free performances of the Company's 2016 production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul, whose hit production of Camelot has extended through July 8 due to popular demand, the production will run at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from August 21-September 2, providing more than 12,000 people the chance to see the play free of charge.

The Neo-Futurists present Ensemble Member Lily Mooney's Empty Threats, directed by Krissy Vanderwarker, in her directorial debut with The Neo-Futurists, playing at 5153 N. Ashland Ave., June 7 - July 14. Previews are Thursday, June 7 - Saturday, June 9 at 7:30 p.m., with opening night Monday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m. The running time is currently 90 minutes.
