The annual Festival of New American Musicals (FNAM) kicks off its 5th season on May 1, 2012 with two MAJOR NEW INITIATIVES FEATURED...2012 SHOW SEARCH and FIRST LOOK as part of the 28 exciting musicals and events lined up.
The Imaginary Invalid - Moliere's wickedly funny farce about a wealthy hypochondriac who wants his daughter to marry a buffoon posing as a doctor. The Senior Drama Academy at CHAMPS Charter High School of the Arts presents Patricia Troxel's snappy "vaudeville meets Cirque du Soleil" adaptation featuring clowns, stunts and a song or two. Directed by Actors' Gang member Jon Kellam.

Award-winning solo artist Mike Schlitt, in association with Son of Semele, has extended his solo-hit Jesus Ride through May 12. The production, which garnered "Outstanding Solo Show" at the New York Fringe in 2009, has been running at Son of Semele Theater since March 9 and will continue through mid-May playing Saturday evenings.

Out of Iceland began previews March 24th Off-Broadway at Walkerspace (46 Walker Street, between Broadway and Church). Opening night is set for this Sunday, April 1st (at 7pm). This limited engagement runs through Sunday April 22nd. Alfred R. Kahn, in association with Culture Project is producing the Off-Broadway Premiere of Out of Iceland by Drew Larimore, directed by Josh Hecht. Michael Bakkensen, Jillian Crane and Lea DeLaria star.

Directed by Emily Mann, The Convert is produced in association with Center Theatre Group (Los Angeles) and The Goodman Theatre (Chicago). The cast features Pascale Armand, Cheryl Lynn Bruce, Zainab Jah, Kevin Mambo, LeRoy McClain, Warner Joseph Miller, and Harold Surratt.
