The entire month of August 2014 will be dedicated to the creation of original works at Trustus Theatre. The month will kick off with the world premiere of the 2013 winner of the Trustus Playwrights' Festival: Deborah Brevoort's The Velvet Weapon. The show will open August 8th at 8:00pm, and run through August 16, 2014. Trustus will host a reading of the winning script from the 2014 Trustus Playwrights' Festival on August 16th at 2:00pm.

Unorganized Crime will now preview tonight, May 3 at 8pm; Sunday, May 4 at 7pm; Tuesday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 7 at 8pm and will open on Thursday, May 8 at 7pm and run through Saturday, May 31 at the Elephant Theatre, 1076 N. The production will put on six performances in Beijing, China, June 10th - 15th at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, four performances in Shanghai, China, June 19th - 21st at the Daguan Theatre, Zendai Himalayas Art Center and four to six performances in Italy, June 28th - July 6th at the prestigious Spoleto Festival.

Director Aaron Dalton brings the award-winning Off-Broadway show to the York Little Theatre's Studio Theatre
The third play in MALIBU PLAYHOUSE's 2013-2014 season will be The Vortex by Noel Coward, opening Friday, April 11, 2014. The play will be directed by Artistic Director Gene Franklin Smith and stars Shannon Holt and Craig Robert Young. The NATIONAL NEW PLAY NETWORK (NNPN), the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces its 40th Rolling World Premiere: Carson Kreitzer's Lasso of Truth will receive three productions through the Network's Continued Life of New Plays Fund in the 2013/14 season. Lasso of Truth will begin its Rolling World Premiere at Marin Theatre Company (Mill Valley, CA, tonight, February 20 - March 16, 2014), followed by performances at Synchronicity Theatre (Atlanta, GA, March 20 - April 13, 2014) and Unicorn Theatre (Kansas City, MO, January 21 - February 8, 2015).

The 45th Annual Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, March 17, 2014 at The Colony Theatre, located at 555 N. Third Street in Burbank.
