New Victory's 2015-16 LabWorks Residency Artists, Professional Development Companies Set

The New Victory Theater, New York City's premier theater for kids and families, announces the 2015-16 artist residencies and professional development companies for the 2015-16 New VictoryLabWorks program. Established to champion high-quality performing arts for audiences of all ages, New Victory LabWorks fosters the creation of new work, offers professional development and advocates for high-quality performing arts and arts engagement in the lives of young people by providing the necessary resources and mining opportunities for professional exchange among a broad spectrum of arts professionals living and creating work in NYC.

Marin Ireland, Nicholas L. Ashe & More to Lead LCT3's KILL FLOOR

Nicholas L. Ashe, Jeremy Bobb, Natalie Gold, Marin Ireland, and Samuel H. Levine will be featured in the LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater world premiere of KILL FLOOR, by Abe Koogler, directed by Lila Neugebauer.  KILL FLOOR will begin performances Saturday, October 3, open Monday, October 19, and run for six weeks only through Sunday, November 15 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).

American Theater Co & Araca Group Partner for New Play Workshop

American Theater Company (ATC) announces the second year of AracaWorks: Chicago, a new play development workshop in partnership with New York's The Araca Group, Broadway producers of Disgraced, Urinetown, Frankie and Johnny in the Claire de Lune, The Wedding Singer, Lend Me a Tenor, and A View from the Bridge. AracaWorks: Chicago emerged from a collaboration that led to the development of Disgraced by Ayad Akhtar, which received the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a 2015 Tony Award nomination for Best Play. The program gives three playwrights a weeklong development opportunity at ATC, culminating in a weekend of private readings-with one of the three plays selected to receive a year of development attention.

Williamstown Theatre Festival Adds Late-Night Cabaret, Fridays@3 Reading Series & More to 2015 Season

Williamstown Theatre Festival  has announced further programming and special events to join the 2015 summer season including: the legendary Late-Night Cabaret, the ever popular Fridays@3 Reading Series, and this summer's Developmental Workshop Series. Also announced are this year's Boris Sagal and Bill Foeller Directing Fellows: Dustin Wills and Adrienne Campbell-Holt.

Barbara Seyda to Receive 9th Annual Yale Drama Series Award

One of the theater world's most prestigious playwriting prizes, the Yale Drama Series Prize, will be given to Barbara Seyda for her play Celia, A Slave: 26 Characters Testify. The 2015 award recipient was chosen by playwright Nicholas Wright, who serves as judge for the 2015 and 2016 competitions.

Peter Parnell's DADA WOOF PAPA HOT to Kick Off Lincoln Center Theater's 2015-16 Season

Lincoln Center Theater has announced the first two productions of its 2015-2016 season: DADA WOOF PAPA HOT, a new play by Peter Parnell, to be directed by Scott Ellis, beginning performances Thursday, October 15 and opening Monday, November 9 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater; and the LCT3 world premiere production of KILL FLOOR, a new play by Abe Koogler, to be directed by Lila Neugebauer, which will begin performances Saturday, October 3, open on Monday, October 19, and run through Sunday, November 15 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).

UTNT to Run 2/27-3/9 at Lab Theatre

The University of Texas Department of Theatre and Dance at Austin presents UTNT (UT New Theatre), February 27 - March 9 at the Lab Theatre. This annual showcase presents new plays from the Master of Fine Arts Playwriting Program.

KCACTF's 45th Annual Festival Kicks Off in D.C. Today

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts previously announced national awardees for outstanding work from the regional festivals that were held January 8 through March 3, 2013. Individual awardees and a representative from each of the outstanding productions will travel to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. for an expenses-paid trip to participate in the 45th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), today, April 15-20, 2013.

The season will also include 'Julius Caesar,' directed by Hamilton Clancy, July 29 to August 14. This is the 19th consecutive year for Shakespeare in the Park(ing) Lot, a favorite New York summertime cultural treat that is performed free in a municipal parking lot at the corner of Ludlow and Broome Streets, Manhattan.
