The National Tour of FUN HOME, the groundbreaking and Tony Award-winning Best Musical, will officially launch this fall at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, running October 2-22, 2016.

Broadway In Chicago and Producers Fox Theatricals (Kristin Caskey, Mike Isaacson) and Barbara Whitman have announced that individual tickets go on sale to the general public on Sunday, August 28 for the first National Tour of Fun Home, the groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning Best Musical.

Producers Fox Theatricals and Barbara Whitman just announced casting for the first National Tour of FUN HOME, the groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning Best Musical. The tour will premiere in Cleveland at Playhouse Square October 2 - 22, 2016, as part of the Key Bank Broadway Series.

As BroadwayWorld reported last night, the first National Tour of FUN HOME will star Robert Petkoff (Broadway's Ragtime, All The Way, Anything Goes) as Bruce, Susan Moniz (Broadway's Grease, Chicago's Marriott Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theater) as Helen and Kate Shindle (Broadway's Legally Blonde, Cabaret, and Miss America 1998) as Alison. Joining them will be ABBY CORRIGAN as Medium Alison, Alessandra Baldacchino (Broadway's Fun Home) as Small Alison, Karen Eilbacher as Joan, Robert Hager as Roy, LENNON NATE HAMMOND as John, PIERSON SALAVDOR as Christian, Anthony Fortino, Amanda Naughton, SOFIA TRIMARCHI and Michael Winther. At certain performances, CARLY GOLD will play the role of Small Alison.

Blumenthal Performing Arts is pleased to announce the 72 nominees - six each in 12 categories - competing in the 4th Annual High School Musical Theater Awards, also known as The Blumey Awards, presented by Wells Fargo on Sunday, May 17, in Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.

Mekhai Lee, named Best Actor in the 2014 Blumey Awards, was one of the top three male finalists in the Best Actor category at the 2014 National High School Musical Theater Awards in New York City on June 30, 2014.

As an actor and a theater student, I take pride in the work of the theater department in my school. I went to the Blumey Awards this year, and I saw many students from schools all over Charlotte, who showed the same enthusiasm and love for theater. The Blumey Awards presented by Wells Fargo, is a great award event to showcase the talent and hard work put forth into each high school musical. This show was created by Tom Gabbard, President of Blumenthal Performing Arts, produced and co-directed by Ralph Beck, Education Director of Blumenthal Performing Arts and Michelle Youngs, Education Program Manager of Blumenthal Performing Arts. They did an outstanding job.

The third annual Blumenthal Performing Arts High School Musical Theater Awards culminated Sunday, May 18, at a gala award celebration where winners in 12 categories were announced and nominees for Best Actor, Best Actress and Wells Fargo Best Musical performed live on stage at the Belk Theater. An original teen rock musical written by four local young artists will be performed at Carolina Actors Studio Theatre from June 29-July 1. Called CyberSoul, the musical explores how teens struggle with communication and relationships in a society dominated by technology.
