Central Works presents Blastosphere!, a new comedy about the biological imperative written by Aaron Loeb and Geetha Reddy and directed by Molly Aaronson-Gelb. The show runs from October 24 ? November 22. It is a Central Works Method Play developed in collaboration with Molly Aaronson-Gelb, Gary Graves, Gwen Loeb, Mick Mize, Kendra Oberhauser, Cathleen Riddley, Gregory Scharpen & Jan Zvaifler.

The festival presents seven 10-minute plays selected from the 36 works developed as part of the season's Monday Night PlayGround staged reading series at Berkeley Repertory Theatre.
PlayGround, the incubator for the next generation of Bay Area playwrights, announces its annual Benefit & Awards Night at American Conservatory Theater on Monday, April 6th, 2009, with special guests Octavio Solis and Jasson Minadakis. A tribute to the outstanding playwrights of PlayGround, the evening features an intimate discussion with Solis and Minadakis and the presentation of the 2009 Emerging Playwright Awards, June Anne Baker Prize, and PlayGround Fellowship. Attendees will also be treated to a reception, silent auction, and dinner.

Over 400 productions were seen in 2008 by Circle critics reviewing theatre from San Jose to Santa Rosa, San Francisco to Concord.
