Heather Rankin, most well known as the youngest member of the 6X Juno Award winning and multi-platinum selling band, The Rankin Family, is bringing her solo Christmas show, Picture Perfect Christmas, to the Richmond Hill Centre for Performing Arts on December 19th. Heather Rankin's solo career began in 2016 with the launch of her Juno Award nominated album, A Fine Line. At 48 years old, after spending over 25 years singing songs mostly written by men, Rankin courageously stepped out as a singer-songwriter in her own right. Her recent success story is inspiring and emblematic of a shift in our collective culture that finally sees women of all ages feeling empowered to be seen, heard and taken seriously.

MerleFest, presented by Window World, is proud to announce the initial lineup for MerleFest 2019, which will be held April 25-28. The annual homecoming of musicians and music fans returns to the campus of Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The complete lineup for MerleFest 2019 will be announced over the next few months. Today's lineup announcement includes Wynonna & The Big Noise, Keb' Mo', The Earls of Leicester, Sam Bush, Tyler Childers, Peter Rowan and The Free Mexican Air Force, and many more. The 2019 Late Night Jam on Saturday, April 27th will start at 10:30 p.m. and run well past midnight, hosted by Chatham County Line. This very popular after-hours hootenanny in the Walker Center gathers many performers from the festival for impromptu artistic collaborations and one-of-a-kind superstar jams that have become legendary in the festival's history. Ticket sales for both the festival and Late Night Jam begin at 10 a.m. EST on Nov. 13th.

In celebration of Kasey Chambers induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame, the Australian Music Vault will have a specially dedicated display which will include items from her personal collection such as handwritten lyrics, costumes, awards and more. The Australian Music Vault is free and the display can be viewed from Saturday 1 December onwards.

The Orleans Hotel and Casino will bring celebrated entertainment to The Orleans Showroom in December, including exclusive previews of the documentary "Feek's Vision," the holiday shows Home for Christmas with Lani Misalucha and "Merry Christmas Darling: Carpenters' Christmas,"  as well as swing revival group Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Sunday evening your intrepid correspondent headed to Veterans Auditorium to catch a band called LAKE STREET DIVE. I had seen the group perform on Colbert twice and thought, 'Well, that's pretty interesting.' So when I heard they were coming to the Veterans Auditorium in Providence, I decided to go. The last time I went to a 'rock' concert was probably Country Joe and the Fish at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet in the early seventies. I went to Woodstock but do not remember much about it. If you are of a certain age and decide to go to a concert these days, be forewarned-the protocol has changed. No more waiting two hours for The Lovin' Spoonful to show up, nosiree. The concert was scheduled to start at seven and went off at seven. My wife and I wondered where everyone was; it turns out at least half the audience skipped the opening act, and the place didn't fill up until the headliners showed up at eight. I was not disappointed by this concert-they had the sold out house with them from jump street.

The critically-acclaimed Palisades Virtuosi flute, clarinet and piano trio will present PV & Friends, a concert on Sunday, December 2 @ 2:00 pm at The Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, 113 Cottage Place in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

ADDY & UNO, the hit family musical, returns on Sunday, Nov 18th to Theatre Row after its summer hiatus. The show will play every Sunday at noon until January 6th. With an original score, heartwarming story, and hilariously adorable puppets, the 50 minute musical comedy tells the story of a young boy with autism as his friends help him compete in his school's math competition. As featured on CBS National News, NBC Sunday in New York, and Fox 5's Good Day New York, the musical aims to educate typically developing children about peers with differing abilities, while allowing those children to see themselves represented on stage.

Gabrielle Lee will play Bricktop in Greenbrier Valley Theatre's World Premiere of Ada 'Bricktop' Smith -Legend of the Jazz Age, a one-woman play with music that celebrates and chronicles the life of Ada 'Bricktop' Smith; written by Cathey Sawyer and musical direction by Kermit Medsker. Born in Alderson, West Virginia, Bricktop a singer and dancer, rose to fame as a nightclub owner during the Jazz Age. She opened Chez Bricktop's in Paris in 1926, and eventually became the darling of Paris nightlife and nicknamed the 'Doyenne of Cafe Society.'
