Casting is now complete for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Annie. The new cast members are Roger Bart as Daniel 'Rooster' Hannigan, Kaylin Hedges as Annie, Ali Stroker as 'Star-to-Be,' Amir Talai as Bert Healy, Marlow Barkley as Kate, Amadi Chapata as Pepper, Noe Lynds as July, Rae Martinez as Tessie, Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja as Molly, and Olivia Zenetzis as Duffy.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 2018/19 season with Native Gardens, a cutting-edge suburban comedy from America's hottest new playwright and National Latino Playwriting Award winner, Karen Zacarias. When an up-and-coming Latino couple purchases a home in a sought-after neighborhood beside the prize-winning garden of a prominent Washington D.C. family, conflicts over fences and flora spiral into an uproarious clash of cultures, exposing both couples' notions of race, taste, class, and privilege. To celebrate Buffy the Vampire Slayer, on Saturday, July 21st, 20th Century Fox Consumer Products invites Buffy fans on the first-ever Buffy Vampire Hunt through San Diego.  Every fan becomes a slayer as they must locate each 'Vampire Nest' across the Gaslamp District and throughout San Diego's Convention Center. At each location, fans will be rewarded with a wide-range of prizes including Buffy Funko figures, posters, stickers, pins, t-shirts, comics and much more.

The pre-Broadway engagement of Moulin Rouge! The Musical, has been extended before performances even begin due to popular demand. Originally scheduled to play from June 27 through August, 5, 2018, the production will now run through August 19, for 16 additional performances. The official opening night is Sunday, July 22.

BRON Studios has come on as a producer of Oscar® winner John Ridley's NEEDLE IN A TIMESTACK.  Zanne Devine, David Thwaites and BRON'S Aaron L. Gilbert are producing and today announced that Tony and Grammy Award winner Leslie Odom Jr., BAFTA nominee Freida Pinto, Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award winner Cynthia Erivo, and SAG award winner Orlando Bloom will star.  Ridley will direct and is adapting from a short story by Robert Silverberg where a couple work to hold their marriage together in a world where time travel is possible, and the past and present are ever fluctuating.

Pittsburgh CLO has amassed an impressive lineup of Broadway stars and Pittsburgh CLO veterans to bring the 2018 Summer Season to life June-August. The organization's core mission to produce shows locally helps to employ artists each year from Pittsburgh and across the country.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, star of stage and screen Zachary Levi is set to join Amazon's hit series THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL. He is cast in the recurring role of an eccentric doctor. A stage icon and legend best known for her starring roles in Cole Porter's Kiss Me Kate and The King & I opposite Yul Brynner, she established an indelible mark in films with a reputation as a the villainous femme fatale with large blue eyes and extremely long, dark hair that made her a favorite of studios and fans alike. 

Los Angeles based Winters Rock Entertainment has secured the story rights to produce a feature length documentary film about professional MMA fighter and TV personality Marcus Kowal. The film will showcase Marcus and his wife Mishel's fight to change the legal and social attitudes surrounding drinking and driving after the tragic death of their 15 month old son, Liam, to a drunk driver. Coming to the United States from Sweden, Marcus was living the American dream. He owned three fight gyms in the Los Angeles area, was married, and had a fifteen month old son, Liam Mikael Kowal. Everything changed on September 3rd, 2016. Liam was struck by a drunk driver and brought to Hawthorne Hospital, where he was placed in the ICU unit and kept on life support. On September 4th, the doctors declared Liam brain dead, and Marcus & Mishel were faced with the most difficult decision a parent could ever face. On September 5th they said goodbye to their baby boy and removed Liam from life support. They then made the heartbreaking and courageous decision to donate Liam's organs. Letters to Liam, which has an anticipated release date of fall 2018, follows Marcus & his wife Mishel as they navigate a complex legal and political system in their attempt to implement a proposed law to lower the legal driving BAC, start a non-profit organization, make multiple TV and public appearances, welcome their new son Nico, and manage their three gyms, all while trying to overcome the grief of losing a child. In the West End's first ever dual-language production, Moliere's classic comedy re-imagines Tartuffe as a radical American evangelist who uproots the life of a French film tycoon in Hollywood.

Many Broadway favorites have filmed pilots this year including Phillipa Soo, Lesli Margherita, Brian d'Arcy James, Andy Karl, and more. As the year continues, the networks are beginning to make decisions on what will be picked up for a full series, and what won't see beyond the pilot.
