SUSAN DALIAN has enjoyed a career in theater, film and television that spans over 30-years. She is currently a theater director/ actor based out of Los Angeles and is an Associate Artistic Director at PlayPenn in Philadelphia, and an Associate Producer at Directors Lab West.


Some of Susan’s directing credits include: Fences (Shakespeare Santa Cruz 2026), Primary Trust (Boise Contemporary Theater 2026), Hamlet (Santa Cruz Shakespeare 2024), Venus in Fur (The Pico Theater starring Malcolm Barrett and Cloie Wyatt Taylor 2022), virtual performances of Troilus and Cressida, Henry VI Part 2 and Richard III (Santa Cruz Shakespeare 2022 & 2023), Resident Director at Sierra Classic Theatre: Macbeth, As You Like It, Outside Mullingar, The Merchant of Venice, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Importance of Being Earnest and Art Dog (Mammoth Lakes Repertory Theatre). Her new play development directing credits includes various staged readings of new plays at theater companies such as PlayPenn, Lower Depth Theater Cycle of Poverty New Play Festival at A Noise Within, Echo Theater Company’s 2022 Playwrights LAB, Inkwell Theatre Development Lab, La Mama Experimental Theatre Club, IAMA Theatre Company, Ammunition Theatre Company, USC’s New Works Festival, LA Writer’s Center, and MACH 33: Cal Tech w/Pasadena Playhouse. As an Adjunct Professor her directing credits include: Stupid F*cking Bird and The Night Shift at Cal State LA Theater and Dance Department and This Is Our Youth Antigone X, Blue Stockings, Dance Nation, MFA Playwrights Festival at USC’s School of Dramatic Arts with their BA, BFA and Graduate students.

Susan is also a voice over artist working in animation, commercials, and audiobooks (2021 Audie Award winner, 2023 SOVAS Award winner, 2024 Audie Award Nominee). Voice over work includes the voice of “Haku” in the animated series Naruto and “Storm” in the animated series Wolverine and the X-men Susan is an Alumnus of Directors Lab West 2019. She holds a BFA in Theater Arts, Acting from Boston University and is a proud graduate of the nationally recognized high school, Baltimore School for the Arts.
