BIO
Rebecca Swislow is a Chicago native and a professional actor with extensive performance experience in various markets. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University in Atlanta with a BA in Theater Studies and Psychology, and went on to earn her MFA in Classical Acting from the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy for Classical Acting at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She also completed actor training programs with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the Moscow Art Theatre School.
Rebecca began her professional performance career as an equity actor in Washington, D.C., with favorite credits include Barbara DeMarco in Shear Madness (The Kennedy Center), Elinor Dashwood in Sense & Sensibility and Lady Macbeth (Annapolis Shakespeare Company), and Blanche/Lord Salisbury in King John (WSC Avant Bard). She also worked as a Teaching Artist for Ford’s Theatre and the Shakespeare Theatre Company with children and adults of all ages, creating curriculum and leading workshops on acting, movement, voice, and oratory techniques. Now, living back in her hometown in the northern suburbs of Chicago, she also works as a freelance writing consultant and interview coach.
