BIO
Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Kate comes from a background in opera and musical theatre. With two parents who were classical musicians, her training started early in life and prompted the following twenty years of studying and performing. After growing up in local and regional theatre, Kate attended Virginia Commonwealth University to study Opera Performance. During these years, Kate continued to perform along the east coast from Richmond to New York to Montreal. At 19, she released an album of original music with her then partner, Jessie Dunnavant, which was Kate?s first introduction to the business of commercial music. To do this, they began their company, Songbirds Management. Deciding to pursue business further, Kate moved to Boston, Massachusetts, to earn her BM in Music Business & Management from the Berklee College of Music. Throughout her time there, she continued to study voice and began to manage other artists who were releasing their own music under the umbrella of Songbirds Management. Upon graduating, she moved to Los Angeles and began working in Business Strategy & Growth for Scooter Braun?s company, SB Projects, which houses artists such as Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Tori Kelly, etc. Less than six months after moving to Los Angeles, Kate met Susan Ferris, CEO of Bohemia Group, and was asked to join the company to begin a new initiative, Bohemia Group Musical Theatre (BGMT). She now manages commercial music, musical theatre, and film/TV clients.
