Feinstein's/54 Below presents "New Writers at 54: Songs by Julia Meinwald & Gordon Leary" on Sunday, July 30. Julia and Gordon write aggressively empathetic musicals. In the tradition of their shows Pregnancy Pact (Weston Playhouse, 2012) and The Loneliest Girl in the World (Diversionary Theatre, 2018), their three newest musicals explore unlikely (and sometimes unlikeable) characters behaving badly.

Amphibian Stage Productions (Kathleen Culebro, Artistic Director) will develop Music City, USA, a new musical with music and lyrics by JT Harding and book by Peter Zinn.  Featuring actors Alex Ross, Kelsey Lake, Braden Socia, Will Adams, Brandon Murphy, Kelsey Milbourn, Cara Serber, Jacob Nice, and Greg Dulcie, Music City, USA will have two performances, on Sunday, August 21 at 2pm and Monday, August 22 at 7pm, in the Berlene T. and Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre at Amphibian Stage Productions.  Mary Catherine Burke will direct and Jacob Nice will music direct.

Continuing its Mainstage Season, the Hangar Theatre's artistic director Jen Waldman will direct the musical Spring Awakening by Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik, June 25 until July 11, 2015. This rock musical, based on the play by Frank Wedekin features a young cast of performers who's vibrant and electrifying performances light up the stage. Full of madcap merriment, this high-spirited musical will have everyone dancing the Charleston.
