The HIV Experience Resources Organization (HERO) presented, in association with Stage 48, 'The Fourth Annual Broadway and Ballet, HERO Awards' to benefit HERO, an organization that helps newly diagnosed and people living with HIV/AIDS. The HIV Experience Resources Organization (HERO) will present, in association with Stage 48, 'The Fourth Annual Broadway and Ballet, HERO Awards.' The event will benefit HERO, a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization that helps newly diagnosed and people living with HIV/AIDS.

HIV Experience Resources Organization (HERO) will present the fourth annual Broadway & Ballet HERO Awards on October 16th at 8pm at Stage 48, 605 West 48th Street.

October 24th from 7pm at Stage 48, 605 West 48th Street, HIV HERO will present the third annual HIV HERO Broadway & Ballet HERO Awards.

Cast members from Broadway's recent FINIAN'S RAINBOW will be on hand at the Lincoln Center Barnes and Noble at Lincoln Center on February 1st, 5pm for the release of the revival cast recording. The cast will perform and sign copies of the CD, which fans will be able to purchase a day earlier than its February 2nd release date.

Finian's Rainbow began previews at Broadway's ST. James Theatre, 246 West 44 Street, on Thursday, October 8, and opened on Thursday, October 29. The production will have played 22 previews and 92 performances. The show's cast recording will be released on February 2 on PS Classics.

'If musical theatre doesn't address important issues, who will?,' read a t-shirt I spotted at the Broadway Flea Market several years ago. And while America's theater history is rich with important issue addressing musical dramas like Show Boat and Ragtime, when Finian's Rainbow hit Broadway in 1947 it was pretty much unheard of for a musical comedy to have its main plot centered on attacking institutionalized racism.
