BAT OUT OF HELL Halted By Disruptive Audience Member


According to The Guardian, the West End production of Bat Out of Hell was halted during the Thursday, March 30th evening performance by a disruptive audience member.

James Whiteside and Isabella Boylston to Star in World Premiere of NEO Presented by The Joyce


The Joyce Theater Foundation in association with the Argyros Performing Arts Center brings three of the biggest talents from American Ballet Theatre downtown for Neo, a world premiere digital duet. James Whiteside and Isabella Boylston take on their first post-quarantine collaboration in the brand-new choreography from Alexei Ratmansky.

Segerstrom Center For The Arts Announces World Premiere Of American Ballet Theatre's OF LOVE AND RAGE


Segerstrom Center for the Arts proudly presents the World Premiere of American Ballet Theatre's Of Love and Rage, a new work choreographed by ABT Artist-in-Residence and MacArthur Genius Alexei Ratmansky. Sets and costumes are by award-winning designer Jean-Marc Puissant, with lighting by designer Duane Schuler. Inspired from the first century Greek novel, Callirhoe, the libretto for Of Love and Rage was adapted by actor, director, screenwriter and Molière Award winner Guillaume Gallienne. The ballet is set to music by Aram Khachaturian with arrangements by Philip Feeney and performed live by Pacific Symphony. There will be five performances: March 5 a?" 8, 2020 in Segerstrom Hall. The ballet will have its New York Premiere during ABT's 2020 Metropolitan Opera House season June 2 a?" 6.

Works & Process at the Guggenheim Announces American Ballet Theatre's WHIPPED CREAM


On Sunday and Monday, April 30 and May 1, 2017 at 7:30pm, Works & Process at the Guggenheim presents performance highlights and discussion on American Ballet Theatre's newest production, Whipped Cream by Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky in collaboration with pop surrealist Mark Ryden.  Ratmansky and moderator John Meehan will discuss the new work and ABT dancers will perform excerpts prior to the New York premiere.

Cast Announced for World Premiere of ABT's WHIPPED CREAM at Segerstrom Center


Segerstrom Center for the Arts will present the World Premiere of American Ballet Theatre's new production of Whipped Cream, choreographed by ABT Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky, with sets and costumes by pop-surrealist Mark Ryden. ABT will give seven performances of the full-length work March 15-19, 2017 in Segerstrom Hall.

Pacific Northwest Ballet Finishes Season with CARMINA BURANA Tonight


SEATTLE, WA – PNB closes its 2014-2015 season with CARMINA BURANA, a dynamic duo of repertory works. Set to Shostakovich's galvanic score, Alexei Ratmansky's crowd-pleasing Concerto DSCH, an “endlessly suspenseful construction [with] passages of breathtaking dance brilliance” (New York Times) dazzles the eyes and ears with its playful, propulsive energy and glimpses of storytelling. In Kent Stowell's primal Carmina Burana, a grand-scale synthesis of dance, chorus, and orchestra, the famous cantata's poems materialize as the entire Company unites song and score for a jubilant communal experience under Carmina scenic designer Ming Cho Lee's colossal golden wheel. The program also includes a musical prelude to shine the spotlight on the world famous PNB Orchestra, currently celebrating its 25th Anniversary.  CARMINA BURANA runs for seven performances only, May 29 through June 7 at Seattle Center's Marion Oliver McCaw Hall. THE LITTLE MERMAID Receives Two Awards in Moscow


At the 2014 Golden Mask National Theatre Awards held on 18 April in Moscow, The Little Mermaid received the Best Production Award in the category Best Operetta/ Musical Production. Manana Gogitidze, who played Ursula in The Little Mermaid , took top honours by winning the Best Actress Award. Stage Entertainment Russia produced Disney's musical The Little Mermaid at the Rossia Theatre in Moscow. The production premiered on 6 October 2012 and ran until 13 April 2014.

Penobscot Theatre Announces Community Block Party, 6/30


On Saturday June 30 the staff of Penobscot Theatre will throw their first COMMUNITY BLOCK PARTY. The event is to be held at the Bangor Opera House as well as in the parking lot directly next door to the theatre (Union and Main) and will last from Noon-8PM. This is a free event but a $5 donation is encouraged.
