The winners of the 2023 Sydney Theatre Awards were announced on 29 January 2024 at a star-studded ceremony, with 30 Awards presented, shared between 15 productions which played on Sydney stages during 2023.

Brisbane playwright, MAXINE MELLOR has won the 2023 Rodney Seaborn Playwrights Award for her play O'Mighty Make-Believe.  It was the unanimous choice of the Trustees after a blind reading of the 2023 entries.

The Mike Walsh Fellowships enable young theatre practitioners to travel overseas to further their knowledge and experience in their chosen fields of theatre before returning to Australia to pursue their careers. In 2015, the twentieth year of the awards, the Fellowships have been given to eight graduates of the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), and the Western Australian Academy of the Performing Arts (WAAPA).

New Theatre's 2016 Season line up continues the company's legacy of staging productions that will challenge ideas and discuss issues.

Nick Enright occupies a special place in the history of the Australian musical. He was the most experienced professional Australian lyricist of his generation and arguably the most influential. Currency Press has released The Nick Enright Songbook bringing together fifty of the best songs from ten musicals for which Enright wrote the lyrics, and the music of five gifted composers. Across this work, Enright's characteristic use of Australian imagery and language shine brightly, intertwined with the themes of resilience, lost love and religion that are familiar in his work. Together the songs display the proficiency and craft he brought to the Australian musical theatre.

Over the next three years, the Enright family is supporting Darlinghurst Theatre Company to produce three plays by the renowned Australian playwright including Daylight Saving in 2014, as well as two other works in 2015 and 2016.
