All For One Theater collaborates with Bushwick Starr (207 Starr Street, Brooklyn, NY between Irving and Wyckoff) in presenting The Brobot Johnson Experience, an Afrofuturism transmedia piece written by and starring award-winning solo performer, actor, and poet, Darian Dauchan, who has appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and abroad. Directed by Andrew Scoville, The Brobot Johnson Experience opens Saturday, February 24th. The show will play a limited engagement through March 17th.

The Bushwick Starr collaborates with All For One Theater in presenting The Brobot Johnson Experience, an Afrofuturism transmedia piece written by and starring award-winning solo performer, actor, and poet, Darian Dauchan, who has appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and abroad. The recently coined 'Afrofuturism' genre is referred to by The New York Times as '...a political and cultural genre that projects black space voyagers, warriors and their heroic like into a fantasy landscape, one that has long been the province of their mostly white counterparts.'

Darian Dauchan's Announces Brobot Johnson Launch Party


Award winning actor, writer and musician, Darian Dauchan unveils his Sci Fi Hip Hop transmedia piece Brobot Johnson at the legendary Nuyorican Poet Cafe at 236 E. 3rd St., New York, NY 10009 on Wednesday, September 21st at 7pm. The Brobot Johnson Project exists in three parts as an album, a web series and a theatrical production. The story follows the adventures of Brobot Johnson, an android newly invented by a scientist named Professor Toussaint and his quest to learn the basic fundamentals of how to be a little more human one mundane but miraculous experience at a time.

Horse Trade Theater Group in association with Cause Dyke Drama and Wreckio Ensemble will present LESBIAN LOVE OCTAGON, written and directed by Kimberlea Kressal (Bail Out: The Musical with Wreckio Ensemble) with music and additional lyrics by Will Larche (We Put The Spring In Springfield: The Music of The Simpsons), June 5-29 at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery). The production will feature Jenny Atwood (European tour of SHOUT!), Taneisha Duggan* (Get to Nomi at La Mama), Kristian Espiritu (Funny Girl in Los Angeles), Jax Jackson (Teddy Ferrara at The Goodman in Chicago), Kelly Lockwood-Larson (Angry Young Women in Low Rise Jeans with High Class Issues), Lindsay Naas* (Urinetown! at The Secret Theatre), Caitlin Lee Reid* (The Break Up Notebook with ReVision Theatre), and Tiwith an ensemble of Felicia Blum (Tess: A New Rock Opera at NYMF), Tracie Franklin*, Jaimie Kelton*, Bernadette Marshman, Allison O'Braza, and Lauren Sapienza*. The creative team will include Lighting Design by Pamela Kupper (Crazy for the Dog at the Jean Cocteau Rep) and Scenic Design by Michael McClain. NAC Announces Kesselring Fellowship Recipients


The National Arts Club announced the recipients of its Kesselring Fellowship (formerly the Kesselring Award) supporting the work of extraordinary playwrights who have yet to achieve national recognition. An industry panel of writers, literary managers, actors, producers and directors and critics evaluated twenty-five finalists. In a rare move based on extraordinary merit, the 2009 panel and the National Arts Club choose to give out two lead awards rather than one. These two playwrights, Rajiv Joseph (Bengal Tiger at the Baghad Zoo, upcoming at the Mark Taper Forum) and David Adjmi (Stunning, upcoming at Lincoln Center 3) were awarded Kesselring Fellowships. Playwrights Jenny Schwartz and Tarrel Alvin McCraney were also named as Kesselring Honorees
