Jay Strauss

Jay Strauss is a Broadway tour and regional actor, television personality, commercial actor, singer with over 2000 performances around the USA and Canada. Born in Newark, NJ in 1945, he graduated from the Tisch School of The Arts, NYC. He worked with Michael Bennett and Ron Field in the New York Mastery. Also studied in Perugia, Italy where he lectured on opera. His first professional gig was at the old Metropolitan Opera House where we was instructed to show up with a towel (to get all of the make up off after many performances of Verdi's Aida). His favorite roles on stage: Herr Schultz in Cabaret and The Prompter in Barrymore (with Ed Dennehy). He has been on stage with many of Broadway's star performers. Jay is married to Song Writer and Broadway pianist John Williams. They live in New York City, London England and Myrtle Beach, SC.
