Now a major motion picture, Letts' dramatic comedy also won the Tony Award for Best Play, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, the New York Critics Drama Circle Award for Best Play and other honors. A crisis reunites members of the dysfunctional Weston family. In times of crisis, most families turn to one another. For the Westons, it's a chance to air dirty laundry and resurrect old grievances. INTO THE WOODS: James Lapine wrote the book and the incomparable Stephen Sondheim the words and music for this fractured fairytale - the story of a childless baker and his wife, who attempt to reverse a curse in order to have a child. Act I ends with all ready to live 'happily ever after.'
The Sondheim-Lapine musical runs at the Heritage Center, 635 N. Delmorr Avenue (Route 32), Morrisville, from July 9 to 25. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., with additional shows at 8 p.m. on Thursday 7/15 and 7/22 at 8 p.m. and Saturday 7/24 at 2 p.m.
