BIOGRAPHY – IRENE WOODS

Irene Woods has been gracing New York stages since 1990. For the first ten years of her performing career, she acted in many showcase productions, including Four Dogs & A Bone, A Coupla White Chicks, and Prisoner of Second Avenue. She has acted in the film Sweet Home Alabama.
Irene’s television credits include Oz, The Sopranos, Saturday Night Live, Guiding Light, and The Nanny. For two years, Irene was a member of the comedy improv troupe, The Grownup’s Playground, which played in New York comedy clubs around town.
Irene is a singer and has created and performed two successful one-woman shows that played at The Laurie Beechman Theater and Don’t Tell Mama.
She currently studies acting with Austin Pendleton and singing with Elizabeth Russo.
