A private industry reading of Whorl Inside A Loop by Dick Scanlan and Sherie Rene Scott will be held on April 29, it was announced today. MAD MEN's Emmy-nominated star Christina Hendricks will lead the reading, which is being presented in advance of an anticipated Broadway run, according to producers.

The co-authors based their drama on their experiences teaching a prison workshop.

Second Stage Theatre presents the world premiere production of Whorl Inside a Loop, a new play by Dick Scanlan and Sherie Rene Scott, co-directed by Michael Mayer and Mr. Scanlan, the creative team behind the Tony-nominated, critically acclaimed hit, Everyday Rapture, which had its world premiere at Second Stage Theatre in 2009. WHORL INSIDE A LOOP began performances on August 4 and officially opened last night, August 27, 2015 at Second StageTheatre's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd street).

Edward Henkel presented his event Dance in Prisons: Confinement vs. Freedom, What is It?, as part of his MovementTalks: Dance as a Catalyst for Change series, which is in its fourth season, at the 92nd Street Y on Friday, December 13.
