David Salyers

DAVID SALYERS is a New York City based actor and musician.

Born and raised in Kentucky, David first began acting in college. The drama program at Campbellsville College was open to all students. After seeing two impressive productions during his first year as a music major, David was intrigued and determined to give it a try. At the beginning of his Sophomore year, he auditioned for "Children of a Lesser God" and was cast in the demanding role of James Leeds (a role he has performed twice since.) Several college plays and musicals followed before David's undergraduate studies ended, including recitals in both piano and voice. His focus on music intensified during grad school at the University of South Carolina where he received a Master's degree in Piano Pedagogy.

David returned to his hometown of Somerset, KY, to teach music. Since his departure seven years before, a very strong college/community theatre program had developed. He became actively involved, performing a wide range of characters in diverse theatrical styles.

Intrigued by the possibility of a career in acting, David bravely ventured to the Big Apple. Bitten by the film and TV bug, he soon moved to Los Angeles where he lived for five years. However, he felt more suited to the spirit and energy of NYC, so he returned to the East Coast.

David taught music for several years while performing regularly with the St. Bart's Players, an Off Off Broadway theatre company in Manhattan. In 2015 he rebooted a full-time career with an increased focus on film and television.
