BIO
Born in 1991, Alessio Motta grew up in Gassino Torinese a little town close to Torino in the north of Italy. His first artistic formation started with theater and street dance at the "Magdaleine G cultural and sport association"; at the same time he was training his body in other disciplines such as Tae Kwon Do,Capoeira and parkour. Scuola di Cirko Vertigo in Torino host him for training for two years in dance-acrobatics and Chinese Pole mainly. Afterwards, with the same disciplines, he completed the Bachelor Circus program at the University of Dance and circus in Stockholm (DOCH, Dans och cirkush gskolan). At the same time, he followed his passion for street dance, in particular the styles of Popping and more recently Krump which get naturally integrated in his circus practice. His work consist mostly in using dance quality of movement, freestyle concepts and contemporary choreographic methods to get closer to a complete fusion of the two art forms. Thanks to this unusual way of moving on his apparatus and the versatility of movement he has been in the cast of "Union Black" a project from Creative Europe (2017-2018) performing in Ireland, UK, Sweden and France; Sadler's Wells with "Soho" from Abigail Yaetes (2017), as well as "Manifesta" (Barcelona, company "Obsken ") in Tarrega Festival and La Merc (2016). He has been working in various and different projects/cabarets in Egypt, Scotland, Estonia, Brasil and he looks forward to increase the number of countries that will host him.
