Hit Gay Comedy/Drama ELECTRICITY Begins Second Year in Palm Springs ELECTRICITY, the hit LGBTQ comedy/drama begins it's second year in Palm Springs, after celebrating it's one-year anniversary in August. The critically-acclaimed production of ELECTRICITY, a new American play written and starring Terry Ray ("My Sister is So Gay") and co-starring Mel England ("Best Day Ever"), moved to Palm Springs after a run in Los Angeles, and has also played in cities across the country.

Few plays have ever run as long in this world-famous international resort destination, and this exclusive engagement of ELECTRICITY at The INNdulge Resort is the ONLY venue where it's performed in an actual hotel room. Over the past year, people from around the world have experienced this powerful production. The audience sits inside a real hotel room with the actors -- and as the comedy/drama plays all around them -- they literally feel the ELECTRICITY!

ELECTRICITY explores the journey of two gay men, Gary and Brad, who hook up in a motel room after their tenth high school reunion in small-town Ohio. Gary is so closeted that he hides behind an invented wife, and Brad is so reckless that he kills his pain with sex, drugs and alcohol because he can't see far enough into the future to believe he has one. Despite their differences, they have a connection which draws them back to that same motel room, and to each other, for every successive reunion from 1983 to 2013.

ELECTRICITY, the hit LGBT comedy/drama starring Terry Ray ("My Sister is So Gay") & Mel England ("Best Day Ever") ignites sparks again in Palm Springs on a special 3-night run on September 18, 19 & 20. ELECTRICITY a new play by Terry Ray. A comedy/drama about the LGBT journey starring Terry Ray & Mel England that has received rave reviews for over 2 years. Directed by Steven Rosenbaum & produced by Michael Darner

This is very unique evening happens inside an actual hotel room at the INNdulge Resort, 601 S. Grenfall Rd., Palm Springs, CA. The interactive reunion begins at 7:00pm and the play begins at 7:30 p.m., running 90 minutes with no intermission. At 7:00 p.m. in the hotel lobby, it's 1983 and the audience becomes part of Chillicothe High School's Class of 1973 tenth High School Reunion. They mingle with their fellow classmates before heading to the hotel room where they practically become flies on the wall, as the story unfolds around them.

Playwright and veteran actor Terry Ray, who plays Gary, said he wrote this play "to chronicle the journey that so many gay men who came of age in the 1970s and 1980s can readily relate to, the journey from a place where silence sometimes equaled death, to one where equality might just be a reality."

Off Broadway and award-winning indie-film actor Mel England returns to the stage to play the party-addicted Brad. "It's always great to come home to the stage and this play is one of the most exciting I've ever worked on," England said, adding "It's so incredibly personal, and it's an honor to be working with Terry Ray so intimately with the audience right there -- it really is electric!"

The original production of ELECTRICITY was produced by TMD Productions and MICHAEL DARNER, and directed by STEVEN ROSENBAUM. The hotel production is co-directed by AMY ROWELL.

All performances are open to the general public, 18 and over. The lobby reception and performance are separated from the private resort area. The show contains nudity.
