Chicago Musical Duo Comes To Palm Desert For One Show Only
One of the Country's most in-demand duos, Beckie Menzie and Tom Michael, will perform their new show entitled "That 60's Show", at the Arthur Newman Theatre on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 2 PM. The show features popular songs from the 1960's with their unique blend of whimsical banter, nostalgic stories, and vocals talent with Beckie on the baby grand piano, and will be their Palm Springs area debut. Tickets for this one show only performance will be sold at the door for $15 cash only at the Arthur Newman Theatre's box office that opens at 1 PM and located in the Joslyn Center at 73750 Catalina Way in Palm Desert. Hailed for their imaginative musical twists on jazz favorites, standards, contemporary pop, Broadway show tunes and film gems, this duo has won audience and critical acclaim across the Country and around the globe. Cabaret Scenes Magazine called them "One of the Top Ten Cabaret Acts," and their recordings have been praised by Billboard Magazine, Backstage, Show Business Weekly and Playbill and their latest CD, "Better Two-gether," had critics call it; "magic," "sensational," and "...the year's best recording."
Tom and Beckie have appeared on some of the Country's most prestigious stages, including New York's Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center and Chicago's Auditorium Theatre. They have headlined with the Chicago Chamber Orchestra and both the Danville and Racine Symphonies, as well as others. They also served as regional judges and mentors for the Michael Feinstein Initiative, which promotes the music of the Great American Songbook to high school students.
