BWW Preview: JIM BORAX'S CALIFORNIA CABARET will Perform a Benefit for Coachella Valley Volunteers in Medicine JIM BORAX'S CALIFORNIA CABARET will perform a benefit for the Coachella Valley Volunteers in Medicine (CVVIM) on Sunday March 31st, at 2 p.m., at the Annenberg Health Sciences Building at the Eisenhower Medical Center main campus. Tickets are available for $50 for general admission and $75 for VIP seats.

CVVIM is the only clinic providing medical and dental services at no charge to medically underserved Coachella Valley adults. One of a nationwide nonprofit alliance of ninety health centers, CVVIM treats the whole person by addressing chronic diseases (e.g., high blood pressure, diabetes, and arthritis), acute conditions (such as colds and flu), preventive medicine, diet, and emotional health.

California Cabaret has performed at numerous Southern California venues and has been featured on CBS and CNN, as well as in the Los Angeles Times. Its singers and dancers will perform selections from the Great American Songbook, including numbers from such shows as CHICAGO, MY FAIR LADY, and CABARET. Additionally, the program will feature beloved classics like Mack The Knife, Fly Me To The Moon, The Lady Is A Tramp, and even Puccini's Nessun Dorma. Mr. Borax, the group's producer and founder, who serves as emcee and participates in the singalongs and other full-group numbers, told me that, after he retired from a successful, 42-year career in commercial real estate, his wife, Sheri, suggested he look for something new to occupy his time. He proceeded to create a show.
